Online gaming publication Siliconera has provided an interview which gives a great insight into the collaboration between Nintendo and Tecmo Koei on the forthcoming Hyrule Warriors. The interview reveals that Tecmo Koei approached Nintendo with the idea and both Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma jumped at the opportunity. Miyamoto discussed it with Aonuma and asked him whether he would be interested in helping produce it, Aonuma thankfully said yes.
“Koinuma explains that it was from there that they eventually spoke with Eiji Aonuma and Shigeru Miyamoto from Nintendo, who agreed on the collaboration to create Hyrule Warriors.”
“So, it sparked my interest when I thought: ‘I wonder what a collaboration with The Legend of Zelda would be like.’ Shortly afterwards, Miyamoto told me, ‘The folks at Tecmo Koei are talking about a Zelda Musou. Are you interested?’ and I responded with ‘definitely!’
Thanks, Aeolus

First!!!
Huh, that´s cool and all, but I don’t think Nintendo is really in a position where they must expect other companies to approach them with collaboration ideas.
That’s a laugh. Especially since just about every company wants all of nintendo’s first party games on their console/smartphones. Especially Apple. Those bastards beg. Lol! Sony and Microsoft don’t have as many cool first party characters they would want to put into a spinoff game.
Sure, a lot of people want to see Nintendo´s characters in other consoles and smartphones. But I’m talking about Nintendo’s own consoles, they should approach more devs with collaboration ideas.
i think its great because the other companies have ideas to pitch to nintendo. i wonder how the oracle games came about if it was capcoms idea or nintendo’s
LMFAO WATCHDOGS review scores for PS4 and Xbox Done on Metacrtic are hilarious…..what is even more hilarious is the fan vote feedback………….an average 5.0/10 for the game!!
LMFAO!!!!
Knew Ubisoft was hyping this game up way to much!!!
I don’t think this comment could be more on topic. Well done!
well, the graphics that they were saying that would be the best, and that they promised at E3 are not soo good at all..
Ubisoft are cocky 3rd party assholes who don’t know a single thing about keeping promises. You can’t believe a single BS they say. Do you see Nintendo doing that on a regular basis, promising wetdreams that’s clearly not gonna happen? Nope because they carefully research and plan and if they sometimes fall short, they quickly find a way around it instead of just making excuses or leave it unattended all the time.
selling games with lies is what they did, so sad
XD I knew it all along that the game was a lost cause from minute on and they went hell bend on damage controlling the reviews and its barely maxed game programming on PS4/One as signs of desperation because Ubisoft saw it coming. Now its time for MK8 to deliver the finishing blow by outselling it 10 to 1 as payback for damning Wii U fans again and again and again.
I bet sasori is weeping somewhere as we speak. Or he’s trying to think of ways to damage control. He can always get a 360 at Gamestop, which will be selling Xbox 360’s for around $99 on May 30th-June 1st, along with Watch_Dogs for it & give the game a perfect 10 on his youtube. Not that it’ll matter since one good perfect score won’t change the overall bad score it has.
It’s nice to see changes like this in nintendo
What is the wii u? Is it a new controller add on for the original wii that boosts graphics?
Trolling bitch
Failed troll fails.
Umm, that is some random fanart, right? At least it has an excuse for being ugly then…
Ugly? It looks great to me.
i just wandering how it like to work with Miyamoto-san. It must be this kind of guy, who is really perfectionist and come up with unusual way of putting thing together which at first seems to be crazy but come out great then he smiles at you and say: “I told you”. By the look at this article he does not seems to be a control freak
Nintendo strives for the best of the best not just hand picking amateurs from 3rd parties left and right for short term quick money solutions. They’ve been in the business far long than anyone else so they do know a thing or two about gaming but carefully plan ahead.
I am sorry I don’t get your point and I am not sure if you are replying to my comment. I did not speculate about how bad or good was tecmo or even Nintendo being careless when they decide to collaborate with another studio but how frustrating and fun it would be to work with Miyamoto-san. Frustrating cause you think you get it right and he just drop a crazy idea on you and you think it’s never gonna work when in fact it make perfect sense.
I wonder if Miyamoto’s new IP will be the last time he direct a video game.
As THE director of a game, most likely as he wants to retire from that position & let the new blood take over. He will, however, continue to help with some of the development of some games when asked for help.
if miyamoto said yes to the dynasty warriors and zelda mash-up then he knows it will be a great game or that it will boost wii u sales even if its slightly, probably the latter, either way im gonna buy and gonna buy watch_dogs u
Well if Miyamoto has faith in the collaboration, we should all have faith in it. Legend of Zelda is one of his creations, after all.
