Smash Bros NFC Amiibo Characters Announced For Wii U

Nintendo has announced that they will be introducing amiibo figures in Super Smash Bros on the Wii U. Wii U consoles recognise amiibo characters when they are touched to the GamePad. Smash Bros Wii U will be the first game to support amiibo characters and when you use one that character will appear in-game. The name amiibo is taken from ami (“friend” in French). These will be coming holiday 2014.

  1. Didn’t Disney and Activision do this already? I know skylanders had done well, I hope this works for Nintendo.

  2. Amiibo doesn’t make a hell of a lot of sense as a name. I guess Amiigo is already a trademark. Oh well, this seems neat, the way they’re incorporated intrigues me.

  3. I’m SO buying every figure they make. But……I want 2 of each, so I can open one and keep the other one in the packaging. But they’re probably going to be too expensive to buy two of each.

  4. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Link, Samus, Zelda, Pikachu, Palutena, Ganondorf, Pit, Sonic, Megaman, etc etc figurines, HERE I COME!!!
