There’s still a chance that the popular Binding of Isaac could come to the Nintendo 3DS. The developer revealed the news on Tumblr and said that it isn’t beyond the realms of impossibility. The original Binding of Isaac was cancelled for the Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo stated that the title had “Questionable religious content.” Let’s hope that the Binding of Isaac Rebirth comes to the platform.
Never understood the appeal of rogue games.
Let me try to explain:
What makes rogue likes so appealing is the fact that you have to learn and master the games mechanics, rather than memorizing the game itself. Its always new, the levels change everytime you play, you get other Items, new advantages and/or disadvantages.
I’m not sure what the binding of isaac is about, but if it disrespects Abrahamic religions you can’t complain if it gets rejected. Really what would you expect. I wouldn’t make a game disrespecting buddhists or hindus even though I don’t believe in their religions. You have to show respect when it comes to certain topics. There are some fanatical people who will do more than complain and actually go after you.
Because releasing video games that disrespect women with their tits hanging out or disrespecting gay/lesbians with the lack of marriage equality, or disrespecting athiests by forcing religious ideologies within games on people surely makes sense. They should allow all games, they are not the publishers, the game is not Adult rated, the game is not 1st Party, why do they care about it’s content?

There are very few games with religious ideology. If having it in a few games is disrespectful to atheists then 99% of all games are disrespectful to religion for not having it. Not only that all the games that have it are making a mockery of it, such as assasins creed that’s using religious figures for their stupid story line. Most life or dating sims have the whole gay thing if that’s what you’re into. Women having heir tits out isn’t disrespectful to all women. If a woman gets offended by that it’s probably because she’s a feminist, and feminists don’t count. I don’t even consider feminists human beings. Last but not least they care about the content of the games they approve because if they approve games disrespectful to certain religions, I like many other consumers, will stop giving them my money. I buy every nintendo home system and handheld day 1, but them disrespecting my religion is certainly a way for me to stop supporting them. There are some things that are off limits.

Because who cares about how virulent the industry is to specific groups of people and how millions of gamers are “enjoying” hate and in turn regurgitating it everywhere they go. It’s all about acknowledging video games as a ~true art form~ in some kind of laissez-faire exercise.
Video games, just like movies must be subject to criticism, analysis and a “no, we are not going to set this loose in society”. The blame-shifting mantra of media “reflecting the world” doesn’t hold water when one acknowledges the reality of how people are being courted into clear patterns of violence due to the media they consume, despite how much industries and consumers love to pretend that somehow movies and video games are pure fun and have no actual psychological and behavioral effects on people.

Very restrictive publication policies since the NES and direct competition with Nintendo’s first-party software happened. Besides, Nintendo is a very hermetic company (just take a look at the Wii U’s architecture), they don’t really design their consoles with third-party developers in mind.
But they tried to make Wii U go for the hardcore audience this time and everyone is just shoving it off.
Well, if you mean “this generation”:
1- Wii U’s architecture is weird
2- External studios need time to adapt to the console, make rushed ports to grab some quick cash
3- They don’t sell
4- “Huh. I guess we’re not wanted here”.
That’s it in a nutshell, more or less. Exactly the same that happened with the 3DS: Nintendo handed third-party studios the perfect scenario for a blue ocean strategy and they wasted it. Twice.
Yep. Twice Nintendo has given 3rd party a chance to dominate the console with the lack of Nintendo 1st party titles, & twice 3rd parties have screwed the pooch.
If you’re talking about the Gamepad, didn’t that get criticised for small disks? Like, the developers weren’t able to include all of their modes or something like that, Idk. And the Gamecube also got criticised for it’s design too. And if you were also referring to N64, well, the controller had issues. And It used cartridges which they also got criticised for. Every single generation, Nintendo always gets AT LEAST one thing wrong with their system preventing 3rd parties from working on.
I’m talking about the 3DS & the Wii U. Both systems had a lack of 1st party titles their first year & what did 3rd parties do: gave half assed games, threw the Wii U versions under the bus by releasing such things as a trilogy for the same price *cough*MassEffect3*cough*, not doing their part to advertise their games for the console with heavy advertising, and using the bullshit “We’ll make games for it when the install base is higher!” So I repeat, they screwed the pooch.

It just means Nintendo hasn’t said no to the game, but to the content within it. Unless Edmund censors the game or tones it down, it’ll never come to a Nintendo platform. I hope he just gives up on it, as much as I’d want to play it on my 3DS, I wouldn’t want a watered down version.
