Nintendo Opens Camp Miiverse Community

Nintendo has announced that it has opened up a new Miiverse community called Camp Miiverse. The new board will see players participate in gaming events that span the entire of Miiverse. Tom, the moderator, says anyone is welcome provided they have the games that the team will be playing. Here’s what he had to say.

“Starting today for the next few weeks, we’ll be hosting gaming events that will span across Miiverse! Anyone can join as long as you have the games we’ll be playing. How it works: CHECK OUT our post where we’ll announce each day’s activity. We’ll post it right here in Camp Miiverse. PLAY the game! Try to beat our challenge! POST your screenshot proving you beat our challenge in THAT GAME’S COMMUNITY. Over there! Not here! RESULTS will be posted the next day. Events will generally be held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For Mondays and Wednesdays you’ll have all day to play, and events held on Fridays will run all weekend long.”

Thanks, Adam and Codymkw

    1. I’m hoping for a community that lets you create threads and forums.
Obvious restrictions will apply to reduce spam threads.
And i want an update that lets you put 10 second sounds with your post from the 3DS Sound App.

      1. They always try to do something creative. But honestly, I wish they wouldn’t all the time. Glad they tried it with Wii U, but I actually wish they didn’t make the Gamepad. Or at least make it optional. It’s required for almost all Wii U features and games. And most of the games don’t even use the Gamepad in the least bit creative way. And they really are forcing it down my throat by making me use it for things it isn’t even really useful for. Like the eshop. My Gamepad charger broke and now I can’t even access about 60% of my things on the Wii U because they require the Gamepad. Whoever asked for a Gamepad-less is honestly a genius. They’d have to patch it up to where it isn’t required and then I would never have to pick it up again. :) Now I don’t exactly hate the Gamepad (ok, well maybe a little) but I just don’t like the way they keep forcing me to use it. Now even if you disagree with me and LOVE the Gamepad, I know for a fact that you’ve probably went to something on your Wii U and went “Man, I wish I didn’t have to use the Gamepad for this.” Am I right? :P

        1. Actually no…to be honest…but then again I’ve always been like that. I do question my newer consoles coming out at times like I did with the gamecube on smash bros. like “How am I to use the controls”? But over that, not really. I accept whatever control are on the system and if I didn’t like it, I’d just get by it by playing it anyways and learning my controls so I can at least know how to play. To me, its not the controller, its my skill. My skill determines how I play the game and how good I am at it. Hehe heh, just like I hear people say “OH COME ON YOU FUCKING CONTROLLER”. I just reply, “its not the controller that sucks, it the player”. Well my past self would say that, but I haven’t heard that line for so long now that I’ve gotten rusty and I’m not as good as I used to be thanks to life and a few jobs.

        2. Wtf happened to you? You were a hardcore fanboy few weeks ago, now you actually understand how the things are, it seems

          1. I was never a fanboy. I just defend Nintendo more than I criticise them. That’s all. I defend all 3 companies actually. I just don’t talk about the other 2 as much because this is a Nintendo site. It wouldn’t make sense.

  1. They need to bring back Camp Hyrule! That was cool as hell back in the day….man I’m getting old…..

      1. Random Guy, Camp Hyrule was this cool internet Summer Camp that Nintendo held for a week or 2 if I remember correctly. You did things like drawings, online games and chatting. It was quite fun for a Zelda-loving nerd growing up in the 90’s lol.

  2. Miiverse is getting better and better. Now the only thing I wish we could do now is be able to set up forums or something similar. Its hard to discuss with the general public and keep a post going when your post ends up at the bottom of the topic in 30 seconds.

    1. I hate it when I spend hours drawing something on Miiverse and after getting lots of yeahs in a few min, it easily goes to the bottom and the yeahs suddenly stop coming.

    1. Miiverse has gotten dry as hell. There’s not much to do when you can only type 200 characters/doodle a little picture. >_< we need a forums style miiverse.

  3. Miiverse is pretty camp already, what with all these knuckleheads creating kawaii animu renditions of Big Boss and Batman for no reason.

    1. Doesn’t matter. Nintendo will do what they want to do. Won’t matter even if you are the biggest, most dedicated, most loyal Nintendo fan in the world. They will still reward you with decade old games for your elite Club Nintendo status. XD
