Square Enix have announced a brand new IP ahead of this week’s Gamescom event. The game is developed by Dontnod who are the developers behind Remember Me. The publisher promises that the game will be like nothing you’ve played before and will be released as digital episodic content. However, as a blow to Wii U owners the publisher stated that it’s for everything minus Wii U. The game will come to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
But what if we now announced an entirely new IP in the official Square Enix family? What if this title was wholly different to anything we have ever attempted before, both in gameplay and narrative? What if this title was released digitally as regular episodic content, with each new chapter building and evolving based on the choices you made in previous episodes? What if we now gave all of this a name: Life is Strange?

i read an interesting article from a real writer and he made alot of sense. 3rd parties cant support the wii u for a reason it dont have anything to do with power. its cheaper than all other consoles, offer free online and the 1st party games every1 wants now if u add all the 3rds party games then it dominates the market so there would be little reason to own a ps4 or xcrap unless u like their 1st party which seldom do. and alot of 3rd party companies admit to fearing nintendo besides square enix has been washed up in the usa for years no since alot of their games started to suck lately. i love their handheld offerings. and was soooooo disapaointed with the direction final fantasy took :( i always was a big fan loved chrono trigger and chrono cross 2 classics unmatched in my opinion :)

I did agree with you until you stated that chrono cross was unmatched classic. The game is just rubbish and it’s no near from Chrono trigger level. the game is more suikoden meet sliders with a very bad ending,very bad story but with very good final boss track. If I remember EA help on that game….
SquareEnix is full of ***************. Nintendo made Bravely Default a big hit for them on 3DS, but they don’t manage to bring such a simple game to WIIU – esp. when WIIU is selling much better than PS4 in Japan nowadays.
And also selling better than Vita and Xbox One. I’m telling ya. Its the 3rd party going after Wii U to ruin Nintendo’s image and credibility even further by not even trying to test or simply build a fucking game on it and yet blindly criticize a tech for imaginary shortcomings that they never bother to discover themselves. Simply this is another game that demands massive amounts of Hard drive space. It is not power that is putting 3rd parties off the wii u. It is the perceived available hard drive space.
Nintendo’s policy is games from disks. Third parties are interested in massive hard drive cloggers.
Are they serious about not doing discs? This is exactly why Nintendo isn’t open for digital because as seen by the majority, they don’t like nor comfortable with digital downloads yet (DRM anyone?) plus with physical having resale value and frequent sales plus pre-owned versions as a discount, its obvious why many aren’t keen to digitals now and Nintendo cleverly knew this ahead of time.
So if Square is avoiding Wii U for one of those reasons, they’re just as retarded as every other third parties.
