A member of the NeoGAF forums has posted the Japanese packaging for Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 3DS. The details on the back of the box state that the file size will be 2.1GB which falls in line with other Nintendo 3DS titles. The next entry to the Smash Bros franchise launches first on the Nintendo 3DS this October 3rd.

I wonder if this is real/final packaging or not. If it is final then there’s no company credit for Shigesato Itoi or APE Inc., which would mean no Ness/Lucas, or EarthBound/MOTHER in general right? There’s also no mention of Konami, so that would mean Snake isn’t returning. I find it hard to believe that Ness isn’t back. I could’ve sworn we’ve seen snapshots with Mr. Saturn’s and Franklin Badges… I also kind of thought Snake would be a secret unlockable character.

Star fox 64 has amazing graphics too, maybe better graphics than oot3d, kid icarus and super mario 3d land.
kingdom hearts 3d ddd has some impressive graphics on the 3ds.

They drew out graphical capabilities that no one thought the wii could pull off, with that game.

I can’t believe they’re sticking with the name “for 3ds” and “for wii u” SMH.
It is the FOURTH installment to the franchise. The titles are play on words. Super Smash Bros. for (as in the number 4 as well as the word “For”) Wii U and Super Smash Bros for 3DS.
It’s clever and it doesn’t make customers confused. Remember the whole confusion surrounding the Wii U and it’s name? Well Nintendo is avoiding confusion between Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS by making the titles simplistic.
Imagine if the titles were Super Smash Brothers Take Down and Super Smash Brothers Knock Out. Customers would be preordering the wrong versions, ordering the wrong ones online and buying the wrong version at the store for their kids.
It’s just easier this way and it works. The titles are fine this way.
Physical copies = Never having to worry about file sizes ever again.
