Nintendo has delighted fans with rather appealing deals this week for Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Tropical Freeze as seen in the European download report earlier today. But the publisher has also announced new Donkey Kong virtual console games coming to both the Wii U and 3DS eShops over the next few weeks. Fans of the Banana King can have a blast with retro titles previously seen on the Wii’s virtual console library from October 16. And the best bit is you can have your banana and eat it, with new retro games coming each week until October 30.
From October 16:
- Donkey Kong Country (Wii U)
- Donkey Kong Land (3DS)
From October 23:
- Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest (Wii U)
- Donkey Kong Land 2 (3DS)
From October 30:
- Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble (Wii U)
- Donkey Kong Land 3 (3DS)
What a pleasant surprise, 2014 is a good year to be a Nintendo fan.
Three weeks of Donkey Kong madness and Lone Survivor too this week? WELL DONE NINTENDO!!!!!!!!!!
OMG YES!! Super Nes DK!!!
yes,the doc she’s games are back!
Dkcsnes is what I meant tosay
COME ON, COME TO THE US ALSO, AHFGHAHGJVBNAJ KWUFH… I know it will, but this is big news for me xD
Man, I wish so badly that would release the arcade port properly – still, good news all around.
Sounds fun
yes! and with the SNES style wii u controls, this would be a nostalgia bomb!
I really hope this comes to the West as well. I have complained about not having these games on Virtual Console. Make it happen NOA!!!!
How to make a Nintendo fan really happy:
1: Rerelease old game on VC
2: Remove same game from VC
3: Rerelease same game again on VC
Having said that, I’m really happy as well about this.
The fact we can use pro controllers makes me happy, I hate the classic controllers
I want this and the free game promotion for Smash 4 3DS. NOA needs to step up their game. =.=
Hey what about us people in the US and Canada? D: I hate it when this happens….
Just t making sure, these are the SNES versions and not the GBA ones right?
All Wii U Donkey Kong VC titles are SNES versions (as far I’m aware of) and all the 3DS VC titles are Game Boy versions. :)
Yes!!! Thats right three exclamation points, I’m that excited.
Awesomesauce! I felt bad for people who missed out on the DKC trilogy after they removed it from the Wii Shop Channel, glad to see it’ll be back and better than ever! Three weeks, one DKC for each week.
I hope this comes west also. I love the snes DK games. Must play games for any Nintendo fan. Make it happen Nintendo!
Too bad they were too stupid not to think of DK64 for Wii U during this process.
You DO realize there aren’t any N64 games yet on VC… ?
Ignoring N64 on Wii console though and at Wii’s launch date. And Wii motes played N64 games and Wii U controllers can’t. Isn’t Wii U more powerful? So why can’t they get Wii U to do what Wii did. Also why when you pop in a Wii U game and select it from the home menu it takes long time to play. Wii didn’t do that? PS1 had long loading times but as you got closer to ps4 the loading times were fewer. Yet from game cube to wii u the loading times are longer yet Wii U is most powerful console… it should act like one for 2014. Nintendo was stupid making Wii u in 2008.
Wow almost everything you said is completely wrong.
The Wii U does load longer than wii and N64 games are in Wii not Wii U. Where am I wrong at?
