2014 was certainly a good year for Nintendo fans as we had titles such as Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8 and Bayonetta 2, among others. There’s no getting away from the fact that these are quality titles and have therefore dominated NeoGAF’s best video games of 2014. The winner of the best video game of 2014 was Platinum Games action packed Bayonetta 2 which was followed by Mario Kart 8 and then Super Smash Bros. Our sacred games winning all these awards proves just how deluded the cattle masses are by buying Sports, Simulators and rehashed FPS garbage all the time really are…
I may own every one of those top three, (and agree with the list, BTW) but one of my most anticipated titles of 2015 is MLB The Show: 15. I wish Nintendo would get off their butts and make a baseball sim, since they own the FREAKING MARINERS! The GamePad alone makes this a no-brainer!

Very cool to see. Now I see a lot of people going all “It was a great year for Nintendo fans”. Well as a matter of fact, not so much. Sure we got some great fucking releases beneficing Nintendo’s quality and polish, but man, how much months did we have to wait between each big release ? 3 ? 4 ? 5 ? We really need third-party devs and publishers to bless us with their games a little bit… :/ I don’t doubt at any moment Nintendo’s ability to make great games and please their fans, but they don’t have 3000 development studios, they won’t be able to fill the Wii U’s catalog of games by themselves, and without third party support, the Wii U won’t be able to ever appeal a larger audience I’m affraid.
Hopefully 2015 will actually be a better year, and it should, I already see the hundreds of hours I’ll put into Zelda and Xenoblade alone.
But shit, third-party publishers, take some risks here. It could be very well worth it, there is an entire fucking market to make potential tons of money out of. Just make the good decisions, pick the right developping studios, and develop a game that’ll appeal to Wii U owners and you’d be set.

Nintendo does a good job making AAA games. I do think 2014 did have good 3rd party games too.
Excuse me? What good 3rd party games when all they have done is cheated millions of morons money via false advertised hype and embargo reviews on purpose so people won’t realize how BS and broken their games really are that further shines their darkest truth of all: 3rd parties are fucked up lazy opportunists only surviving in business through deceiving the stupid.
And yet, people still treat Nintendo as a second hand “fisher price” console despite having better built games that dont sell itself through BS falsely advertised hype-fest only one track retards would fall for.
