Target has listed the New Nintendo 3DS XL Majora’s Mask 3D edition on their website, but unfortunately it’s not available to pre-order yet. Maybe they aren’t ready quite yet, but it’s encouraging that it’s up there. I will let everyone know if and when it becomes available for pre-order.

Well, this pretty much confirms anyone who wants to get this at retail price will be in line at some ungodly hour in front of Target or Walmart on the 13th, along with more scalpers.

all this crap started with amiibo. i wouldnt be surprised if they are purposefully manipulating stock to create an artificial frenzy for the product. It will only last so long though. Eventually people will just be pissed off and turned off this all together. i understand wanting to make something limited, but to sell out of stock in minutes is a clear indication that they are either one, holding stock back, or two purposefully keeping supply low to create demand. Either way its a shitty way to treat your loyal customers.
Think about it. They get free publicity for doing this. Still shady but cost effective marketting. That being said I wouldn’t be surprised if they are making plenty of these they just wont be available at launch. I remember the Link between worlds one being available for a while.
Exactly, there was never a supply issue with that one. However, scalpers are already honed in on this console, and they will try to buy them all. I don’t remember if last year’s one had the same pre-order madness.

Literally there was NEVER a mess like what’s going on right now, why? Because people didn’t give as much as a thought as they do now. Because there wasn’t a 3rd party website telling you that “LOOK ITS IN STOCK IN X-RETAILER!!!” It was simpler and organized, Nintendo would tell you about the console and it’s release date if it had any and that’s it. That’s fucking it, people would go calmly into the store reserve if they wanted and leave happy. The items wouldn’t sell out within a day, if there were scalpers, it would be really low profile, hardly people noticed and that was fine.
But this…Im sick of these articles. These are what have been fueling scalpers to stay alert and its sickening to look at it anymore. I mean gdi, I got my 25th anniversary Zelda 3DS literally 4 days after it was announced…almost 4 years ago because some people brushed it aside and didnt think it was as special…it was the one console I really wanted and I’m the happiest to own it.
And I’d hope people could learn from this experience and learn to be smarter. Be patient, dont even look at ebay/amazon websites, dont support scalpers by buying from them, check up your local retailer every now and then, call them, etc. But DONT rely on websites like these to tell you because there are high chances that it will be too late.

Precisely. Some people also consider MM to be somewhat niche in regards to the Zelda universe and timeline, hence it being different in formula when compared to past games of the franchise. Add all this information to the word “limited edition” and people immediately release the contents of their rectum; the game’s cult status (which scalpers have undoubtedly exploited) ultimately killed it for the fans themselves.
Nice timing, they recently announced that all the Targets in Canada would close down -__-
How about you DONT let people know, Sickr? Let them find out on their own. You’re only feeding the scalpers with this information.
If people really want the system, let them figure it out themselves. Just like when people camp outside a black Friday to grab the best sales item.

im just gonna wait this one out for a while. see whats available after launch. I could care less about the figurine that comes with the game, i have enough crap laying around my house. But the MM edition of the console is actually quite nice looking. If i cant find one of these editions i probably wont upgrade my system at least for a good while. What i cant understand is why they didnt allow for the face plates on the XL version? that couldnt have been too much of a technical feat. Then all you do is give away face plates as a reward for preordering.
Target likes to put things ho for preorder for about 20 minutes in the middle of the night. I’ll be really mad if they get any more amiibo exclusives..

You know what’s crazy about this? The system DOESN’T INCLUDE THE GAME! Yet, it’s being sold as if it were bundled with something, $219.99 isn’t it?
