New Langrisser Game Announced For Japanese 3DS, Coming This Summer

A new Langrisser game has been announced for the Japanese Nintendo 3DS which is set to revive the series after 15 years. Developer Masaya Games revealed the forthcoming tactical RPG in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, stating it would be aiming for a summer release window. As scans show above, Langrisser – as a working title for the moment – will be set in a world mostly submerged in water, where a boy wielding the sacred weapon Excalibur takes on legions of imperial forces in order to save a girl.

According to various translations, the game’s combat will feature 10-versus-10 player battles, with 3D chibi counterparts serving as units. Famitsu also mentions the 3DS title will include steampunk elements, an interesting route for the series given Langrisser is usually stapled with traditional western fantasy aesthetics. And while fans of the game may remember the beautiful artwork from series designer Satoshi Urushihara, Masaya have taken upon the artistic talent from Hiroshi Kaieda for the new game instead.

    1. For me it’s better than fire emblem,i hate permament death in those games and Der Langrisser as well as Bahamut Lagoon on SNES are one od my favourite turn based strategy games ever.I finished Der Langrisser at least 10 times, replay value is huge because of smart class systems and every battle is just epic.Langrisser IV on PS1 is great too,but i prefer Der Langrisser

    1. I wouldn’t call them perverts, but they know what sales. The irony however, is that this is probably a E 10+ game at the most, but will probably be rated M in the west. The hypocrisy in America is dumb, let children be exposed to drugs, sex, real naked women, etc on just about everything but scream when you see a half-naked cartoon woman on a game. I’m not getting on you I just thought I would point that out.

      1. Dont care about any of that lol,i didnt point she is naked and i m a feminist and all that.I just wanted to point the idiotic thing that going to a war/battle with just underwear for armor its awful and japanese are perverts because all the wierd staff came from them.

        1. I think he’s talking about social media, and television that shows all that crap in children’s faces or like how a show can have all those elements and more and still be rated only 13+. While a game with only one or two half clothed women will get a rating of M. Family Guy is an excellent example of this.

          1. Still doesn’t make sense. Family Guy is not for children or any of the adult television shows… Even if children do see those shows they can also play this game so to me both ways sound bad yet somehow the West has this problem.

  2. Another JRPG… yep, that’s what the world needs right now.

…Well, that and another person giving themselves an imaginary rank in the imaginary army of Nintendo fanboy basement dwellers.

    1. Ridley, the Angel of Death

You must really have a hard on for Quadraxis, don’t you? Maybe before you tell him to grow up, maybe you should first. lol
