Splatoon Devs Showcase New Character Artwork Alongside Shoe Store

The official Japanese Twitter account for Splatoon has showcased additional artwork today along with a new in-game shoe store. For players who cannot wait to accessorise their squid avatars in Nintendo’s upcoming third-person shooter, the newest store named Shrimps Shoes aims to keep your feet comfortable without substituting ones own unique style. Joining the weapon, clothing and headgear stores revealed last month, Shrimps Shoes is owned by the rather glorious and friendly Japanese tiger prawn Rob.

According to translations, store clerk Rob is always seen in his crispy fried jacket and hat, along with many of his own shoes given he’s definitely got the legs for them. Contrary to popular belief, his jacket is merely part of ongoing fashion trends, he’s never been cooked. His official Splatoon artwork can be seen below. Splatoon is due for release on Wii U this May.

  1. #squadswagg. My inkling is gonna be swagged out from top to bottom. I wonder will they have vans look alikes.

  2. I wonder if we will have face custominzation too? I love the inklings design but I would like to give my inkling a softer face to match my style.

    1. Side note: Is CN still not working for anyone else? I can’t even register games, and foraged for some codes to get W101 (hopefully.) We’ll probably have to wait until the end of the week for it to calm down.

      1. I got on at seven this morning (eastern time) and got it to work long enough, but after I got my game codes, I tried to do a post play survey and it went down again. I actually got it to say two different things though when I brought it back up, once that their site was down for maintenance reloaded it and then it said there were too many people trying to log in at once and to keep trying, then I hit refresh and it said that their site was down again :/ go figure?

      2. Wow…just wow. How can you not friggin know that cartoon network make CARTOONS, not games…you friend potato sauce..

  3. I can’t wait for this game! Am I the only one who thinks this kind of looks like something from Sesame Street?

      1. No, It just reminded me of it for some reason. I’m not bashing the game. I never bash Nintendo stuff. I just said I’m excited for it.

        1. Oh. sesame street is not a show of quality. it’s dull as shit. I thought you were saying this game was like that.

        2. I don’t see how this game reminds you of sesame street, since sesame street is live action puppets and costumes. It’s a very strange comparison as they have absolutely nothing in common. Not the art design, or characters, or even in the way they are developed and produced. Does a bowl of soup remind you of sesame street? How about going for an afternoon walk. Does that remind you of sesame street too?

  4. Is this gonna be another Nintendo game where they show you EVERYTHING about the game before it releases? I don’t mind a new screeshot here and there, but I hate it when they don’t leave anything to be discovered.

So far there is plenty to be discovered, so lets hope they ease up on releasing too much information.

      1. yeah ho I’m gonna end up getting both of them but this game looks a bit more rad than X :p

btw son you stalling in smash! if you ever wanna play hit me up

  5. do peeps actually give a fuck about crap like this?? Ive been playing Mario for nigh on 30 years and not once have i felt the need to change his fucking clothes.
Will this game be any good? Who knows, we spend all day in virtual fucking shops

    1. Nintendo Elite Commander Quadraxis

      1. Whatever Mario has to do with this game…

      2. No one is forcing you to change their clothing…

      3. A lot of people are looking forward to this, including me…

    2. It’s not just about changing clothes.. watch the direct again. Each item gives a different boost to the player stats. run faster, jump higher .. etc

oh wait mario wore different suits that gave him new powers didn’t he?

  6. I don’t want to incur the wrath of the fandom, but I have to confess to losing interest in this title. While I had some initial curiosity about this title when first announced, the more and more and MORE I see of this title, the less interested I’ve become. What initially looked like an original take on the FPS for the Wii U just seems to be getting more campy and cartoony by the minute. Xenoblade and Kirby need to get here.

    1. You talk about this getting more cartoony, but your waiting for some gay ass Kirby to get here. You sir don’t no what you want.
