Bayonetta 2 Director Has Plenty Of Ideas For The Next Bayonetta

Bayonetta 2 received some fabulous review scores when it launched and was packed full of content so it’s no wonder that Bayonetta 2 director Yusuke Hashimoto says that he has plenty of ideas racking around his brain for the next game in the series. Hashimoto was asked by Games Master magazine which Platinum Games sequel he would most like to work on and he swiftly replied that it would have to be the Bayonetta series.

A sequel to a Platinum title… I’d have to say Bayonetta 3. I have all kinds of ideas in my head for how to expand the world of Bayonetta in even more sequels, or maybe a spin-off!

  1. I hope they make that 3DS Spin-off for Jeanne Kamiya talked about. IMO It would be nice if it was a Brawler beat’em up game with a sprite based art-style

  2. Hay sickr whats up i am going to my worship so i will see you later Ok have fun with the New nintendo 3ds

      1. yes, i realize that but where’s the marketing?
they should let gamers know that this game exists and not only this game, it’s sad that they don’t talk about DKC:TF (IMO, a fantastic game), nowadays they only talk about SSB and i know you’re going to say i’m wrong.
SSB is fantastic but that’s not the only game avalaible for wii u there are other games.

        1. They did advertise the game look at Adult Swim commercials plus the game gain a lot of atention thank to the whole Exclusivity thing but remember that character action games are not a popular genre Heck it took a long for the first Bayonetta to reach the 2 million copies Also platinum games tent to not sell very well with exception of MGS Rising and that was because it was Metal Gear

  3. It’s a good thing that Bayonetta 2 have sold a whole lot more than The Wonderful 101. Let’s hope that Nintendo and Platinum Games deliver a third Bayonetta title only for Wii U (or its ninth generation system) or a New 3DS XL spin-off starring Jeanne.

    1. The first Bayonetta realease on Xbox 360 didn’t sell well that’s why Sega ported to the PS3 to boost sales and still it didn’t sell well it took a long time for the game to reach the 2 million sales

Remember that the games made by Platinum don’t really sell well with the exception of Metal Gear Rising and that was because it was Metal Gear

      1. This ^
So true sadly the Bayonetta it’s a Niche title, not everyone likes high Octane Over the Top Character action games either that or every person in the west thinks the games like Bayonetta and Devil May Cry are the same as God of War

    2. Bayonetta 3 will be a Nintendo exclusive, and here is the proof.

Yusuke Hashimoto said “In terms of nurturing the content of this game, there’s a lot that we learned from Nintendo and if possible we would love to do it again and keep nurturing our child.”

“I feel that it’s important to let your creativity flow and Nintendo has been able to provide us with the freedom to create what we had originally envisioned. We were able to have a lot of back-and-forth and they were able to provide objective feedback. I feel that was really good and helped push Bayonetta 2 to even higher quality.

“We started out with a fundamental freedom, with Nintendo telling us to go and create the game as we saw fit. But as the game started to take shape and we were starting to put all the pieces together, they were able to point out some things that we didn’t realise ourselves. That was really helpful for us.”

    1. So long as Nintendo show Platinum Games that money they’ll be more than happy to make Bayonetta 3, I promise you

    1. Has there been any news that Bayonetta 2 wasn´t profitable?

The thing is.. I never liked the genre, always wondered why people play games like that. Then came the day when demo was released on X360. I tried it, tried a bit more and after few demo playthroughs bought the whole game..

It just felt out of this world or maybe out of “platforms audience”. Game felt as a odd bird what consoles were offering that day and after. In the end the game didn´t sell that well on either X360 nor PS3..

Now..When I played Bayonetta 2 (and 1) on Nintendo, it just seemed to click. It offers that great gaming experience as other Nintendo titles do, different compared to X/PS platforms. For me, it just feels that Bayo is finally “at home” with Nintendo.

If I´m not mistaken, game sold at least double (if not triple) on this one console compared to those two total sale. And it will still keep selling when new people buy WiiU..

I just hope Nintendo holds on with this title.

  5. Bayonetta 3 will be either a Wii U exclusive or a Nintendo ninth generation console exclusive I guarantee it because Sony nor Microsoft didn’t give two shits about Bayonetta 2 when Platinum Games presented them with it first but I really want Nintendo to buy Platinum Games so that can have exclusive rights to the Bayonetta IP and another great development company. Make it happen Nintendo, make it happen

  7. Hope they make a Bayonetta 3 as Wii I exclusive. Just to shove in the port beggars and “buaaa Nintendo publishing Bayonetta 2 means that the franchise will die to poor sales and never have a third game Buaaaaa” faces
