If you’re considering trading in a Wii U then you can get $232 and if you want to get rid of your Nintendo 3DS XL and get the New Nintendo 3DS then you will get $101.50. It’s best to go to your local GameStop and check all the deals.

    1. For people who bored of that console already or people who regret buying it. I remember people brought the console for competition in Mario Kart 8, since the game is broken, even now sadly. Some of us paid the paywall just to play Monster Hunter with our own friends.

If only Nintendo, just go to third party already.

    2. I had to trade in my Wii u ps4 vita and ps3 back in September. I didn’t have much of a choice seeing as my new job would take a month to pay, and my last job already paid me but I spent a good bit helping out my sister.
So I had to sell my consoles to pay my bills. About to buy a Wii u again for xenobkade though.

            1. Well that’s just what I make now. I’m expecting a promotion in a couple years maybe 3 or 4. I’ll be working a bit longer, about 6 or 7 hours but it’s $22.35 an hour or something like that.
In case you’re wondering I worm for a company that creates parts for cars and I design parts and redesign oldd parts via computer (known as CAD software).

              1. Ah, I see. That sounds pretty neat. Although, I could imagine that your job probably isn’t that easy by how much pay they’re giving you. Must be tough work.

        1. Bullshit. He’s on a budget. WiiU is cheaper AND has the games he wants to play.

As soon as you said, “Nintendo go 3rd party” you exposed what kind of gaming band-wagon, ignorant fanboy you are. Nintendo isn’t going 3Rd party anytime soon. Anyone who thinks so is part of an elite group known as “I’m going to try to look cool by saying something ignorant as fuck.”

              1. He’s not with it, he couldn’t terminate himself from a fast food restaraunt even if he dipped his penis in the coffee pots.

        1. It means they have so many Wii’s in stock that they’re paying peanuts for them. I saw a lady get offered $15 for her Wii. -_-

          1. If it’s a Wii that plays gamecube games, then it’s worth at least $40 to people like me. If it is a stripped down wii with no GC ability, it’s worthless.

  1. If gamestop is willing to pay you 230 dollars for your Wii U, thats proves that the Wii U is still a healthy console. Thats good to know at least..

  2. That’s a pretty great trade in deal for the Wii U. O.o It’s tempting. Idk. Maybe I should keep my Wii U for Zelda…

      1. Skyward Sword was probably the farthest thing from a flop. Just because you don’t like motion controls doesn’t mean a game is automatically bad.

          1. The controls were not even the problem since it did improve over Twilight Princess. The problem was the reception from gamers and that stupid ass “holding your hand” tutorial trip the whole game took players through which is far more annoying than Navi saying “Hey!” to you all week without stopping.

        1. Don’t make false assumption outer of me, you blood sucking fanboy. Think carefully why I called you a blood sucking fanboy.

        1. Buy gpu for computer. IMO, I rather wait for emulation, rent the zelda, and buy it, if the game is fun to you.

    1. Actually, I think I might just do it. I haven’t really been playing my Wii U and I’m really bored with Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 now. I think maybe I should go for that $350 Xbox One. Or PS4 if they have any deals too. Maybe I’ll just wait another year or two and buy the Wii U again if there’s enough that interests me.

      1. This is a really tough choice here though. If I trade in my Wii U with all my games, I’ll have to somehow save up the other $100+ for a PS4. But… If I trade in both my Wii U and 3DS with all my games, I’ll have more than enough. O_o Trying to see if it’s really worth it. Give up all my Nintendo games for a PS4? Hm…

        1. i sold my Wii U but I will never sell my 3DSes. A lot of good 3DS games out for it plus so many great DS games. Stupid part is that my 3DS is connected to my old Wii U via NNID. i left my Mii on the Wii U with a password so they can’t use my eshop money but still can play my purchased games. At the time I didn’t know that if they find a way to delete my NNID then I will lose all of my 3DS digital content which I paid about $300-$400 for plus all the ambassador games. The people who bought the Wii U know though that if they delete my Mii then they will lose all the Wii U downloads which are over 40 titles. And I hope they have no way to delete my NNID or I will be screwed. I thought that Nintendo’s DLC is all tied to the hardware. I hate their “account system” and avoid digital purchases from now on. I was stupid not researching it beforehand. Now to avoid losing my dlc games my loaded 3DS has wifi off permanently, and i use a different 3DS for gaming and for going online. It is a pain.

          1. Yeah, that’s the bad thing about downloading games on Nintendo platforms… I actually already traded in my 3DS and while it did have some downloaded retail games on it, there were only like 3. So I wasn’t really losing much anyways. I feel sorry for you though, man. That’s a ton of money to lose out on. That just isn’t fair. Yeah, you should have researched before you bought all those games, but it’s not all your fault. Nintendo should’ve had a universal account system already. :/

            1. Maybe they will implement it when they are starting their new reward system after Club Nintendo is ended. Maybe the reward system ties in with a universal account system.

  3. This is great news, I’m trying to sell my PS3 to get a PS4 and this gives me enough money to do so and get a game to go with it!

Now if only I had the money to sell my 3DS XL and buy the “new” 3DS alongside the PS4…

  4. I can picture masses of people trading in their Wii U, flooding in their stores. Gamestop is going to regret that decision. Then again, I’m not sure how small of people own Wii U.

    1. Nintendo onsoles tend to have high attach rate even more so then sony or mirco. Even the games have a high attach rate kinda explain why GS charges near retail price for a pre-own Nintendo title(some times more).

      1. Wait, wait, you can live in fantasy all you like. But, don’t put Nintendo next to competition of gaming consoles and software. Because Wii U is irrelevant and doesn’t desire to seek potential consumers. Only fanboys and their poor friends keep the console from dying too early.

          1. Perhaps, but not high enough to known. Might be sounds alot to you, but it’s still very few to competition.

            1. that because it is high. Not taking sales ATTACH RATE meaning people who don’t sell off their games or hardware out all the 3 nintendo tends to have the highest, the wii u sales are not great, but i could care less sine I,m having fun with what I have…Plus steam

  5. Collectors like myself NEVER gets rid of games or consoles. I just add more and more. But I appreciate those who DO get rid of them. Because it gives me more to buy. I bought 9 Wii games at Gamestop the other day for super low prices.

  6. If this kind of deals are available in my country even for a day, I would have traded my PS Vita and PS4 for the N3DS and upgrade to a Wii U Deluxe. My Vita has been on drought for almost a year now and the PS4 has fewer games I like.

  7. Wait, I thought you could trade your 3DS XL for 100 dollars toward the N3DS XL. Does that mean my old 3DS would only be 50 dollars trade in?

  8. I wouldn’t trade my Windwaker Edition.. Not even if I were to get back the full amount invested. If needed I would rather say goodbye to either PS or XB.

This little console is still my favourite this generation and with games like Xenoblade Chronicles X, Zelda and an inevitable future Metroid on their way it has a chance of keeping that position for way longer.

  9. Is this only for the US? I’ve been thinking of trading in my Xbox 360 Slim 250GB for a while, but I’m living in Ireland, so I’m not sure if I’d actually be able to get the 50% bonus.

  10. I just might trade in my Wii U for a PlayStation4. I can’t remember the last time I turned my Wii U on. I really wanna play Mortal Kombat X and all the fighting games and many others that won’t be coming to Wii U. At this point there are more games coming to PS4 than games I want to play for Wii U.

    1. I would wait till june, PS4 still doesn’t have muh of big big titles yet. Witcher, batman, mkx et will all be around to play. Plus you could have money saved by then. Your hoie really

  11. Can anyone help me ? OK so I have the flame red 3ds that comes with Mario 3d land and apparently its only worth $99 but the regular flame red cost $250. So I would only get $50 for it ? Shouldn’t I get more for the bundle ?
