Wow, someone has jumped the gun a little early and that someone is EB Games Australia. The retailer has announced on Facebook that they’re already taking pre-orders for the Nintendo NX, a system we know next to nothing about. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced the system today and said we won’t get any concrete details until 2016. So yeah, it seems a good idea to pre-order a system that we know next to nothing about and could come out in 2017.

EB Aus have had Zelda U available for Preorder since the Wii U was first announced, They always jump the gun.

Could come out 2017, it will at least come out 2017, when has Nintendo ever showed off their console the year it come out, and its not even coming out till next year, and like gammalad said, it could be the NX 3ds
If it is a new handheld, Nintendo are dead in the water.
If it is a new console, Nintendo have a chance to regain third party support and have the most powerful hardware on the martket.
If it is a hybrid console/handheld, people just going to throw their money at it.
Lol. Definitely jumping the gun. Everyone has been jumping the gun on this news. “But WAAAHHHH I just got a Wii U!” Good, enjoy it. There are plenty of great games and more to come. This won’t be out til 2017 at the earliest considering we won’t know anything more until 2016. It’s like people forgot that new hardware is ALWAYS in development. Hell, we don’t even know if it’s a console, handheld, or both (unless I missed something). Use your brain, it’s free.

I wonder if the reveal of the NX may just stop Wii U sales. At first there were people who were complaining about how they just got a Wii U, but now there are people who will probably say they’ll just wait for the NX. With just about every Nintendo console being backwards compatible I’m sure the NX will be able to play Wii U games as well (unless it’s a handheld,) which will also make people want to wait for Nintendo’s next console neglecting the Wii U. Then there are the people who will be content with just smartphone games, and may never make the jump to an actual console. I want Nintendo to do well, but things could backfire as well.
Nintendo has a pattern when realeasing consles. It’s always handeld first, home consle last. It’s always been that way for a while.
Bbreaking that tradition won’t hurt nothing. As long as they are thinking if 2021 in 2015. If they thinking of PS4 for the next generation NX then worry.
If they release the new console in 2016, they could release the next at the same time as PS5/ XBone, both of which could be just streaming machines anyway.
If they give it backwards compatibility, wouldn’t that make the Wii U completely irrelevant? I don’t think they will.
They better give it backwards capability and operate the same OS which was dumb for how they did Wii U. Too stupid not to think of that in 2008.
But Nintendo makes just about every system backwards compatible, which is why I’m worried about how things will go.

But then some time after the NX comes out, the next console will be confirmed, so those people would probably say “I’ll just wait for the next one now.” Then some time after that one comes out, the one after that will be confirmed, then rinse and repeat. For those people, you gotta wonder if they actually play any games at all.

The NX could be any price. SO how much do you ask people to give you in preorders? That’s a really dumb move honestly. No need to reserve something this early like you’d miss out on it otherwise.

The CPU is about as powerful as the competition, it’s the GPU that is lacking. So you are mostly talking about graphics.
What does graphics have to do with making a console have 4 gamepad work more than 25ft away. Five it enough gigs for the OS to make better changes? Make one OS to work all older consoles and better online because of more power. Graphics on Wii U can be on PAR with PS4 if they wanted. And still a dumb weak console because it’s makers didn’t think of 2015 back in 2008. Power and graphics are two different things. If it were the same why isn’t the Wii U sales as good as PS4’s then huh?
Also what does graphics have to do if Nintendo gave the Wii U power to allow.4 users to do different things on four gamepads. One user can watch Netflix, another can play Eshope games, another can play the another game and another can surf the internet. A console needs a powerful CPU to do that not graphics Right?
Or better yet watch Netflix and play Dr. LUIGI OR Tropical Freeze at the same time. If it had power the Wii OS can work with the Gamepad and pro controller playing Brawl And GameCube controllers. Graphics can’t do that only power.

This just confirms power sells hardware. We may not know nothing about the NX but we know it is at least as powerful as PS4 because every generation consoles is more powerful than last gen. That’s why it’s on pre order. Hopefully Nintendo’s dumb ass estimates the specs to be as powerful as PS5. Power equals success weak consoles don’T. But I’m not buying it without knowing if it is on Part with PS5. If it’s weak then I’m keeping my wii u.

Here is what they should do in R&D. Handle more than 1 gamepad. Have backwards capability work the same gampad. Have GameCube controllers work the system. Making it play GameCube games. Make sure each gamepad can work more than 25ft away. A fast ass CPU and 8 cores and more than 32 gigs for saving games. all this better be for the NX or it will flop like Wii U. They also better be thinking of power to make future changes and updates. They better make it powerful enough so it can handle better online. Stupid for making a.console more powerful than PS3 in 2008. They better be thinking of tablets and apps and more apps. They better be thinking of the IPhone 9 and 20. And the Galaxy 6,7,8 and 9 when it comes to power.
Also Nintendo better be thinking of the 2019 Smart TV and the 2019 Acer Tablets. If they want the console to be successful. If they want it to fail think about the current IPhone and PS4. They better be thinking of how HBO Go and Starz are going streaming with Netflex. They better be better thinking of next consoles and what they can do to 2022 Cars. They better be thinking 6 years ahead and not current. Power and future technology sales not old as 2015.specs.
Also nintend should think about smart watches and how they can respond to the gamepad Or NX Controller.
The NX is going to need between 12 to 15 cores to sell. 8 cores is too few knowing PS5 will have more than 8 cores.
They just want your money… It’s way too early to be selling anything, in my opinion. The NX is just the codename for something in development… It might be years until we get a finished product.
Also Nintendo needs to get out of their weak “every game don’t need online” and actual try it. Pikmin 4 needs online. DK needs online. Abother 2D or 3D Mario needs onlin. NintendoLand needed online. I also hope they are making 2017 games so it won’t be a launch software drought which was stupid. Also they need to think about the 2019 possible Apple Console and what to expect. A more powerful 8 core PS4 won’t be the NX’s answer to be a success.
I agree most games should at least have online. I also agree with Nintendo that local multiplayer is better than online (especially since Nintendo doesn’t offer voice chat with most of their online experiences), but we should at least have the option to play with other people online since we don’t always have access to other people to play games with locally. “We didn’t include online because we want you to play with people around you, ” translates to “You can’t play multiplayer until the holidays or someone’s birthday or some kind of break or the rare weekend where everybody’s schedule lines up to have freetime.”

Maybe, but in the sense of knowing what the NX is, yes, we are all blind. We have absolutely no info on it except that NX is the codename for the development project of an upcoming Nintendo device/console.

Gamecube and wii u launched within 4 years of each other…. And the wii u is doing worse than gamecube I think Nintendo comes out with its next console next year- 4 years after the wii u. I love my wii u. I play it more than my ps4 and whenever a new game comes out for it I immediately interrupt whatever I’m playing on ps4 to beat it. That being said. It will have a short life which is a bummer.
