- Mario almost superseded the quirky squid-like characters in Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U paint-gun game Splatoon
- He doesn’t make games with a particular age group in mind
- He tries not to let his reputation intimidate his design teams
- He thinks novels may be more creatively powerful than video games
- He views profit-obsession as a creative roadblock
- He feels strongly about staying in the hardware side of the business
- And his favorite Nintendo platform to date is… Wii/DS
Thanks, David S

He views profit-obsession as a creative roadblock, in other words EA. LMFAO!!!
I’m still extremely sour about EA buying Dungeon Keeper and then shutting them down because it wasn’t profitable enough. WHY!? WHY WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT EA? It’s not the only franchise they ruined either.
Who’s the worst offender, Microsoft or EA???
What exactly is wrong with Microsoft? You know they made Windows, right? Which pretty much everyone who owns a PC is using right now.
I’m talking about ruining a company that the bought. More specifically, is EA shutting down Dungeon Keeper, or is Microsoft ruining Rare’s legacy the worst part. I said nothing about which is the worst company. Next time, read it AND try to understand the meaning behind a comment, before make assumptions…
*that they
At least Microsoft never Shutted Down Rare, in fact right now they’re letting them do whatever they want
Then that’s my answer then. EA is the worst offender. That’s all I really wanted. Thank You Lucciano Bartolini
Microsofts Rare is completely different from Nintendo’s Rare. NOW, Microsoft is letting Rare do what they want. But back when Microsoft bought them out, they were really just destroying their competition. They bougt Rare, then made them sit idol for years. Rare may still exist in physical form, but Microsoft destroyed Rares soul the day they acquired them.
You said nothing about Rare in your original comment…
The main point was still there though. I asked which of the 2 ruined a company that they bought the worst. I really didn’t need to mention Rare, because that’s the very first thing that normal comes to mind when talking about a company that Microsoft bought for the console market…
Yes you did. What if I didn’t know who Rare was? How would I have answered your question then?
I meant to say normally. Anyway, just that. To someone that knows about gaming, which should be a good amount on here, would think Rare first. If someone didn’t think that at first, then saying what you said in your first reply, was completely valid…
Anyways, most people that worked at rare left once Microsoft bought it.
And they should have STAYED with the PC instead of creating the Catbox.
I liked Windows 7. I just think that Windows 8 seems like a less user friendly experience…
mac os x all the way
I’m not even sure if that’s an insult…
My Windows 7 /Windows 8 comment? It’s meant to be a criticism to Windows 8…
No. That comment wasn’t directed towards you. Anyways, I prefer Windows 7 so I’m in agreement with you there.
nah developers need to focus for mac. windows is for peasants
they should have focused on mac
Mac is good, Windows is shit
microsoft is for poor people and apple is for average people
they fired all their debug team
Trolls
He is a god
steve jobs is a god
Gabe Newell is a god
Cool stuff
8. Zelda 1 was based on his explorative childhood…
Everybody knows that.
Too bad Miyamoto and people like him are a dying breed. Most gamers dis Nintendo, talk shit, run them into the ground, when in all honesty they are one of the last developers left that actually care about their fans. E.A., Ubisoft, Activision, etc. none of these companies gives two fucks about you, yet most gamers flock to them anyways… You reap what you sow, and gamers today are sowing a bunch of garbage..

Rape
Da fuq is wrong with you?
Mind your own business, sir. And don’t feed the troll.
miyamoto is contradicting himself, first he says
profit-obsession as a creative roadblock
Then later he says
his favorite Nintendo platform to date is… Wii/DS
Both Wii and DS was made by a profit obsessed. NINTENDO
I dont see anywhere that its because they made alot of money that makes him love those console…
I particularly like #4. Not only am I currently writing a novel (w/ 2 more & a novella on the backburner), but I’ve found a way to include Nintendo in a clever & natural way, & my works are avant-garde. Then there’s the potential for adaptations in video games, music, movies/anime, & of course comics.
Wii/DS is probably his favorite because they’re both innovative which is cool because I love innovation too! Except Wii isn’t my favorite console. Its the GameCube but my favorite handheld is the DS!
Miyamoto likes little party-like games it seems, because he loves the Wii/DS generation?
Interesting. I would have pegged him for a lover of the N64 gen.
And this is why Ubisoft, EA, & Activision are abandoning Nintendo when Nintendo could use the help: obsessed more with profits than trying to be creative & use the Wii U’s gamepad for creative ways. Or maybe they are just too stupid to be creative these days. Making games that use the same exact gameplay every time for the past decade apparently can do that to you.
