Nintendo Of America President Reggie Fils-Aime Celebrates His 54th Birthday Today

Today is a very special day for Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime as it is his 54th birthday. Who would have thought he was 54? Anyway, let’s take some time out to wish him a very Happy Birthday as he continues to lead Nintendo of America and promote both the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. It has been a struggle, but Reggie and the team seem to be getting there.

Thanks, MasterPikachu6 and JapanGamer

  1. Reggie is a great guy and a great spokesperson for Nintendo, but I do wonder how well he does his responsibilities behind the scenes. Whatever the case, of course I wish him a great birthday and here’s to many more years of Reggie at Nintendo.

  2. See. I totally disagree. I think he is a terrible spokesperson. He feels like a politician, constantly spills tosh from his mouth and just doesn’t sound genuine. Totally think it’s time for him and preeese undulstand to step down now.

        1. Nintendo Lieutenant Cereza

Then by your command Tetrarch! I shall rally the youth on the fence and run re-education software. They must be shown, THEY WILL BE SHOWN. That our empire is supreme.

            >>>Good, anyone that does not submit to pure gaming shall be classified as an Xbot or Electron vermin for all eternity, no exceptions>>>

  3. Animal Crossing plushies = AC for the Wii U CONFIRMED. Heh.

    Happy birthday, Reggie!

By the way, since this is about Reggie, I would like to show readers an interesting video: http://wiiudaily.com/2013/11/reggie-says-expect-something-at-vgx/

Remember how Nintendo was criticized for having game releases spread too far in between, and how Nintendo seemed to make a comeback toward the Holidays with several releases and announcement for several more (some of which are still to come out later this spring)?

Well, all that goes back to a realization of the mistake and a change in strategy pointed out by Reggie. As I commented then:

“He states that Nintendo plans on having a different pace of games for Wii U and 3DS filling out the catalogue all year” This is the most encouraging claim of the bunch, as I believe this is the big mistake all the console companies made. There was a slew of releases at launch then a really long waiting time for more notable releases, and enthusiasm has petered out. A steady release of games throughout the year over the next few years would help keep people thinking positively about the console instead of lamenting long wait times for news of anything notable and new.
