SEGA has rejoicing today as it has now shifted over 5 million copies of Sonic Frontiers with the milestone being achieved with help from the recently released Nintendo Switch 2 version of the 3D platformer. All eyes are currently focused on what’s next for the mainline Sonic franchise as Sonic Frontiers was released on multiple formats back in 2022.

It is not a success for a game—which was released to such a large player base four years ago and is now selling for $13.99 after numerous digital price cuts—to have sold 5 million copies. A successful game is one that receives high ratings from both critics and gamers and achieves high sales in a short period of time. Even sega doesn’t call either Frontiers or Crossworld a success.

There are two parts to the sonic fanbase. One side that does fantastic stuff like adventure dx but better and project 06. And the other side are creepy people who should shave their beards. It sucks being part of the sonic fanbase because people assume your creepy even though I like sonic because his games are fun.

Awesome news for future titles. Still haven’t played the newer games, even though I hear mixed things about it I’m interested in trying it. They really should focus on having more zones though.
The last 2D games I really enjoyed were the Rush titles, they were top games, both music and gameplay were great.
Man this series is garbage, even a Pokemon spinoff managed to destroy it in sales lmaoo.
