Pokemon Pokopia has sold over 5 million copies worldwide

Pokémon Pokopia, the first Pokémon spin-off for Nintendo Switch 2, has sold over 5 million copies digitally and physically (game-key card), The Pokémon Company has announced. The cozy life-simulation game, co-developed by Game Freak and Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force (known for the Warriors series), launched on 5th March to worldwide acclaim, considered to be a system-seller by both fans and critics alike. Within those four months, Pokopia has already managed to become the second highest-selling title for Switch 2, behind only Mario Kart World; the first-party launch title released in a bundle with the system.

Bubbly Basin, Part One of the paid Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC, launched earlier this month, so sales will likely continue to grow at a steady pace with two more parts still on way. If these numbers are any precedent for the next mainline generation of Pokémon, Winds and Waves is sure to sell like a breeze and make a splash when it launches 2027 for Switch 2.
