Wondering who IGN want included as the downloadable character for Super Smash Bros? Well judging from their Instagram page it would seem as though they’re backing Sonic’s best friend Tails. I suppose he would make the perfect companion for Sonic who already stars in the brawler. Don’t forget you can vote for your favourite character, here.

it would only make sense though… its sonic and tails after all, hes just a classic STH character, even moreso than Knuckles… and i would rather see Tails than something lame like shadow or silver… dont get me wrong they are good characters, BUT… it would just feel wrong to skip over Tails… although Knuckles would be freaking awesome too imo

Darkness, only candles are lit… creepy music plays… a door opens, and a little beam from a flashlight enters the room. It’s Luigi… “Hello?” he mutters…. the beam dances over the floor and finds Bowser, Mario, Link and Ganondorf…. Luigi now fully enters the room…. A battle is about to commerce…. All he would be is a cloned Sonic. Unless they use his SA2 get up. He would not be my top pick.
You know, he has tails for a reason. Areal ability is one, and he’s a genius, so put some robots and his magic hand in there from Sonic Battle. He has a lot of potential.

Tails isn’t actually too bad a shout, I think he’d be able to add more variety than knuckles would and I don’t think would be too much sega!
I’d really like Tails to be in the game, I don’t know why people have knee-jerk reactions to Sonic characters that aren’t Sonic. Besides, if another Sonic character is added, Tails would be the most sensical way to go.

It’s supposed to be a joke. On IGN’s Nintendo Voice Chat, they were all joking about how “no one” wants Tails in the game.

If there’s one Sonic character that I’d like to see in Smash, it’s Dr Eggman.

If any sonic character would be able to get in I’d choose Amy. Her hammer is a great asset. She’s not as fast as sonic but she is quick and can still run at top speed while increasing the size of her hammer. She’d be a fast powerhouse.
She would be really fun. But pretty much Knuckles, Tails, Shadow, and Robotnik (fuck Eggman, I’m old school) all have a better chance than her. Amy has never had the popularity she deserves.
I’d rather see another Sega character separt from Sonic be in Smash. Like: AiAi, Alis Landale, NiGHTS.

At least this one makes sense to promote. Sonic is there, Tails isn’t a clone, Tails is popular too. I could get behind this if I had to pick sides. But I wouldn’t personally vote for him.

Like, there are so many potential Zelda characters to be added. When Mario has like practically double digit representatives, and Zelda didn’t even get a new representative in SSB4, something isn’t right. I get that multiples of the above mentioned are assist trophies, but it’s just strange that for all of the recent Zelda releases/re-releases, we didn’t get a single new playable Zelda representative. Hell, they only even gave us Skyloft as a single new Zelda stage. So much wasted potential.
