Resident Evil Requiem on Nintendo Switch 2 helped attract new audience to the series

Masato Kumazawa, the producer behind the thrilling Resident Evil Requiem, has said in a new interview that he is firmly of the believe that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game helped attract a new audience for the series, especially when combined with the release of Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village, which are also available on the format. Here’s what Mr. Kumazawa had to say:

Kumazawa: I think it was a big advantage that we were able to offer it in a portable format, making it easily accessible to people who didn’t own a PlayStation 5 or a high-performance PC.

Do you feel that the release of the Switch 2 version has actually attracted a new audience?

Kumazawa: Around the same time as this game, we also released the Switch 2 versions of “Resident Evil 7” and “Resident Evil Village” (hereinafter, “Village”), and it seems that quite a few people have started playing “Resident Evil 7” first and then continued on to the latest installment, “Requiem.”

It’s wonderful to see that people who were interested in the game but didn’t have a way to play it have now entered the world of Resident Evil thanks to the Switch 2 version.

    1. Awesome! Welcome to the fandom! It’s one of my fav series, OG RE2 is a top 10 game for me. Requiem was fantastic!

    2. “Welcome to the family, son”. I remember playing the OG Resident Evil on the original Playstation back in ’96. What a game changer. I’ve been hooked for 30 years.

  1. Just got through (spoilers?) the Raccoon Police Department. Very fucking good so far. Runs surprisingly great (as long as there isn’t fire on screen lmao).
