Ubisoft’s Rayman Legends Retold looks very promising despite many wondering why they didn’t embark on a brand new Rayman adventure. Today, Ubisoft Montpellier has shared some beautiful concept art which looks fairly close to how the actual game’s visual style turned out in the end. Rayman Legends Retold will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 on 1st October and seems to be a budget release according to retail listings.
Ubisoft Montpellier shares new concept art for Rayman Legends Retold

These guys need concept art for a “budget” remake?
Yeah? All games have concept art and sketches. Those are used as baselines for the art direction and sometimes how they want something to look in animation (though that is usually done in storyboarding, not concept art).
With the huge visual overhaul of this remake, of course they would have concept art. That’s basic game design and a fundamental for the industry. You are the only person I’ve ever witnessed to be this brash about getting behind the scenes artwork, lmao. Most people would kill to see this stuff.
looks more similar to original, but 2,5d backgrounds and 3d characters model are slowly but surely growing on me
The game looks amazing, but I think they should have remade an older Rayman and then used this new style for a brand new entry….not remake legends, see if it sells well and then make a new entry, time will tell I suppose
It looks nice but the only thing I am not a fan of is the camera perspective at times, it should be completely side on, not shifting.
I have the game for Vita, that’s the version I’ll stick with if I feel the need to play it. It keeps the touch control in tact as well which I prefer to the workaround. Also prefer the character art of the original
