We know that Smash Bros creator, Masahiro Sakurai, has been in the wars with his shoulder. Sadly he is still experiencing issues which are making his daily life issues rather difficult to cope with. Sakurai explained his situation in the latest edition of Weekly Famitsu in which he writes his column. He wrote that recent games such as Dragon Quest Heroes and Yakuza 0 require certain amounts of button bashing and this is something he just can’t do at the moment.
“I still have trouble with my shoulder and the symptoms of tenosynovitis still remain, so I’m forced to use a special mouse that clicks by inclining for work.” Sakurai wrote. “If I was to button mash, my arm would give out in 10 minutes.”

In your opinion. I don’t think Sakurai deserves to be in pain like he said, but voice chat is very fun with friends. You like playing with friends in smash together at your house or theirs on the couch right? So why wouldn’t you enjoy the same conversations and trash talking with friends from your home when they are at theirs and you are unable to meet up?
If it is just with friends, then it could be good, but there was no reason to name-call Sakurai just because he didn’t include voice chat in Smash Bros. It isn’t even a necessary feature and as it is his shoulder is still in pain from development and the guy above me is complaining that Sakurai didn’t work hard enough to bring him a satisfactory game.
So I got angry a bit.

Voice chat is completely pointless, and does NOT add to the overall game experience.
It’s definitely not, and being able to talk to my friends while I’m playing smash like I do when we play in person most certainly adds to the experience. People say nintendo is great at couch games with friends, well when you can’t meet up, you can still communicate and have the same laughs. There’s really no argument. If you like playing with friends in person there is no reason you should be against chatting while not in person. Or do you just not like playing with anyone at all? If that’s the case, I guess voice chat serves no purpose. But that’s quite a lonely existence.

Well why don’t you make a 2 games at the same time, with a pain in any body part that will restrict your movement and thus, how much you can work on a game? Sakurai could have taken time off from working on the both games to rest up and get better, but he didn’t. Why? So that the fans don’t have to wait longer than they need to, in order to get their hands on both versions. He could have taken a rest after both versions released, but he didn’t. Why? Because he promised the fans that he will add Mewtwo and then later Lucas into the game. He could take a break after Lucas comes out in June, but he won’t. Why? Because of the Smash Bros Ballot. Here’s an idea, instead of complaining about one feature that didn’t make into the game, why not appreciate the product that Sakurai produced, while in pain throughout. Go get a life, you bloody ingrate. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Why does anyone want voice chat for anything in wiiu? What we’ve experienced so far blows. Any other voice chat option is better.
Some don’t have other options or don’t feel like setting up skype and other things. I myself don’t have a PC for instance, so I would appreciate it. The voice chat does have static and such but it’s decent enough to hear people clear, when it’s not annoying teens screaming so loud.

Could be for the better, but maybe it could be for the worse… I think Smash 4 is brilliant. Not too fast, not too slow. It feels great playing the game. I prefer it over any other Smash Bros, including Melee.
First off, let’s learn to discern facts from speculation.
The facts are that he’s here, working on the game, despite being injured and despite probably having enough money to quit and live comfortably for the rest of his life. That “Nintendo practically demands he makes the games” is simply an assumption, which, even if true, is easily trumped by the fact that he could quit if he’s truly working against his will, and Nintendo would have no choice but pick someone else to do the job; simply put, if you want to talk slavery situations you could turn to the myriad of real human rights issues across the globe instead of trying to make a rich celebrity game developer from the first world into a martyr.
The heart of the problem is not Sakurai himself, but that this situation is not helping anyone, if he’s at a health risk I would personally prefer he didn’t work on the development of the game where his condition is both at risk of worsening and causing the quality of the game to decline; nobody said he needs to go if he doesn’t want to, there’s plenty of other things he can do, he can be a consultant or a director, look over the shoulders of others like Miyamoto and Aonuma do.
