Splatoon Is Currently Placed As The Best-Selling Wii U Game On Amazon

It looks as though quite a few of you enjoyed the Splatoon demo which went live on Friday. The game has climbed to the top of the Wii U best-sellers chart on Amazon and has probably achieved similar success at other retailers. We haven’t got too long to wait until the game is released as it’s due out on Friday, May 29th.

Thanks, Paidenthusiast and AKA-Link77

          1. That borefest? You literally had to search in a huge ass world for monsters and people to fight, which is worse than 12 people only multiplayer in COD Ghosts’s Stonehaven map.

        1. I gave the motion controls a try, but it was a little awkward going up and down with the gamepad. I’ll try the stick controls next time I have the chance.

I hope in the future Nintendo releases a patch to put the map on the main screen and give us the option to use the pro controller.

          1. Well, they do make great games. But they also make some pretty bad decisions. I wouldn’t call them a demon for it though. XD Also, the only people that give them too much hate are just dumb fanboys. There’s a difference between criticism and hate. The people that give them “hate” are most likely the same people that laugh at just the sight of Splatoon. They don’t care if it has or doesn’t have voice chat. They still make fun of it. (And all the people that play it of course)

    1. Be cool if they just ran it for one whole day. Kind of hoping they’ll surprise us, but then again it isn’t too far off from release.

            1. Bowser randomly comes out and some unlucky person ends up getting all their stars taken. It’s always funny when it happens to someone else and not you. :P

                          1. Fun having to drive fucking cars with lesser character roster and stale mini games with Amiibo mode (being a gimped original MP gameplay) as an excuse to sell itself? No thanks. I’ll wait for the BETTER MARIO PARTY games on VC.

        1. OMG!!! GUYS IM SORRY BUT SPLATOON WAS FUN AS A MOTHERFUCKER PARTY! im a buy this game day 1! I tried the game at 11:000pm yesterday :_: i need this now! I love u demo u helped me.

              1. I’ve got mixed feelings about it. I really don’t like the decisions that Nintendo make, but these games look pretty good.

                  1. I know. But Star Fox and Zelda are pretty hard to resist. I’ve always said that I’d like to be able to play Nintendo games on other platforms but whenever I say it, I instantly get scolded by Nintendo fans that tell me to purchase Nintendo hardware to play Nintendo’s games. I really like the games but I’m not really a fan of the Wii U itself. It has too many flaws for me to fully enjoy it. Sure, the Gamepad can be nice at times, but I just find it annoying for the most part with its short battery life and the fact that it’s pretty much required to play the system. :/

Even though people don’t like it, I like Star Fox Assault more than 64. Not a fan of just flying around in a ship. So yes it’s boring. I agree. If they bring only flying back and no ground play in the new one, I’m skippin it.

                        2. I played 64 3D and Command. Didn’t really excite me much but Command’s story was better. I wanted to try Assault since it has third person gameplay and open space battles which sounds fucking amazing and wish future Star Fox to be like that.

                    1. The gamepad battery is bad but you can get a better battery replacement for it which should last you around 8 hours tops for straight gaming using it. I’ve skipped Nintendo Systems since Gamecube to Wii but I regret that. The Wii U is a great combo with a decent gaming PC. That’s what most of my friends including I have. Great games and the gamepad feature is nice for me.

                      1. Yes, but most of the games I would really want to play are not out or are taking forever to release. (Xenoblade, Zelda, Yoshi WW) There are a few I would actually like to get like Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, etc. But even then, I’m already busy enough with the PS4 and I already have a big list of Steam games I want to get. Can’t really be bothered to add any extra systems right now. Though I may consider it next year as I catch up on some games.

                      1. I’d like some one on one Splatoon love with you so I can splooge my penis ink all over your robotic face.

            1. It was really fun! I was actually sitting on the fence for Splatoon, but now I’m sure to pick it up day one. Not pre-purchasing digitally since that’s a waste of Wii U’s limited storage space IMO

            2. It was extremely fun! The game could be so much better though with battle customization, voice chat, and some extra maps and modes. All these things may come later hopefully, but regardless the base game is still fun.

          1. I only could play at 4 in the morning cause I was grounded but dude apart from me being tired it is amazing

        2. The game is way more fun than I thought it’d be. I was already going to buy it, but now I’m a lot more excited.

I specifically like how each different weapon completely changes how you play, if you really want to make an impact.

This was something I haven’t really felt since the old Star Wars Battlefront games. Which are still my favorite shooters, but who knows. This game might take that place eventually.

It’s super polished and so satisfying to play.. And the squid/ink mechanic is just brilliant for fun gameplay.

They still need to work on the servers a bit though. I had only 2 errors during that last session, so it was a lot better than the first. With hardly any noticeable lag. The music is awesome as well.

          1. The first was flawless for me, but on the last test I finally experienced some lag and disconnection errors. I got stuck in this one room that wouldn’t start for like 15 minutes, then it just disconnected.

Nothing out of the ordinary though for an online game, it happens. As long as it isn’t happening all the time, I’m good.

        3. Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th best selling Wii U games on amazon are?

If I had to guess, I would say Smash Bros 4 is up there, Mario 3D World, maybe NSMBU, and Wind Waker HD? Oh wait, maybe Mario Kart 8 is in there instead of NSMBU.

          2. Kaptain Krusha K. Roolenstein

Well on the best seller list. The following Wii U game is Smash Bros then is Mario Kart. But they are way down the list from all the other best seller video game items.

Current best seller. Smash bros. Been out for along time so I don’t think people will still be trying to get it.

        5. After watching the game play, im satisfied in saying that looks fun as hell. I’m even envious a little of you Wii U owners, for other games as well but gah.

        7. Splatoon is also placed 5th pre-orderer game on a french e-store called CDiscount :

          1. The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt + Black Controller Protection (PS4)
          2. The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt + White Controller Protection (PS4)
          3. The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt + Black Controller Protection (XBox One)
          4. The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt (PC)
          5. Splatoon (WiiU)

Splatoon, DOES have potential. This game’ll break the bank! ;)

        10. I really enjoyed the game. It hardly had any problems connecting and it has great potential for a new 3rd person shooter. The weapon selection and maps were a bit small , but after all it was a demo. Additionally, I found the charger sniper rifle a bit more challenging to use. Nevertheless, if one practices with it, the power behind the controller can dominate a match with it. Can not wait to get it on May 29 along with the amiibo three pack set.
