A talented Nintendo fan has created a superbly intricate custom Ice Climbers amiibo figure. Reddit user Mast3r Sword posted the finished product – complete with front and back box design made from scratch – to the social networking site, along with a link to photographs of his creation. Designed from a base 3D model, Nana and Popo were modelled after their Super Smash Bros. Brawl character poses and feature beautiful detail upon their mallets. It’s not the first time we’ve seen custom-made fan amiibo either, with the psychic type Pokemon Mewtwo – which sold for an impressive price tag – and a Yarn Yoshi included in the mix. Unlike Yoshi and Mewtwo though, the Ice Climbers amiibo figure doesn’t represent its character on-screen, though an NFC chip could be installed from a previously bought character. Why would you use the brawl pose???
Well, they don’t exactly have one for the new Smash so I’d say Brawl is the most logical to use.

That’s actually the best looking “custom” Amiibo I have seen. And honestly the only one I wouldn’t mind having.
Ice Climbers aren’t playable because the 3DS has limitations.
Sakurai wanted both 3DS and Wii U have the same rosters.
Yet some fans are too upset, even though I don’t ever recall people praising Ice Climbers until recently.
Must be a different fanbase.
Very cool, Wish the Ice Climbers were in Smash 4. They were one of my favorite characters (like, for real my top three most used characters behind Sheik and Diddy Kong).
Ice Climbers would have made the cut in Smash 4 if the 3DS version ceased to exist.
The whole “I want the rosters to be identical to one another in both games” excuse is just silly in my eyes.
They could have done something creative like Namco did with Soul Calibur 2 by making Spawn, Heihachi and Link exclusive to Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube respectively.
Ice Climbers could have been a Wii U exclusive and a different character could have appeared exclusively for 3DS to compliment that.
It just makes no sense for a veteran fighter to get shafted due to something as little as “limitations”.
