As they showcased Super Mario Maker at the E3 Digital Event and announced the release date, it was also revealed that not only can you create your own crazy Mario levels, but you can play through them as loads of different characters to add to the madness! Tap an amiibo in and collect a special mushroom to get “Costume Mario” in order to play as an 8-bit version of the amiibo character. 8-bit Wii Fit Trainer? Sure thing. Link? Of course! Kirby? Why not! Mix up your favourite Nintendo worlds.
Furthermore, the large 8-bit Mario amiibo was confirmed and revealed that using it in the game will allow you to become a large Mario in-game. All in all, a pretty nifty addition to an already awesome looking game. What do you think?
Ye
Nintendo HQ: hey team, let’s not bring Zelda U to E3 2015, I think the fans would LOVE to see Mario Tennis instead!
^THIS. Whatever happened to the glory days of E3 2001 and 2004?
This e3 was suicide worthy fuck you Nintendo
For me, this was probably the most interesting aspect of Super Mario Maker.
This and Star Fox Zero were literally the only good games to come out of the digital event. Everything else looked like shit.
Even Star Fox wasn’t that impressive. I watched the Digital Events of Microsoft and Sony and they had much better looking games than Star Fox. Ultimately it will come down to gameplay, because Star Fox doesn’t “look” like anything special.
Every single Nintendo E3 reveal was a disappointment for me. Star Fox, Animal Crossing, METROID! :(, the Zelda co-op game (no single player experience?!), Mario fucking tennis -_-, Shin Megami Tensei Hentai Emblem…
Nothing new, nothing impressive. Worst E3 ever…
I agree with everything but the hentai emblem thing. It wasn’t that bad. If anything, it was ecchi quality but without the blatant nudity & fanservice pantyshots. Unless you are referring to the fact hentai means pervert in Japanese. In which case, ignore me. lol
Agreed, and sadly those 2 were already revealed since last year, so that kinda decreased the hype. They should have not said anything about Star Fox till today.
I think you might as well prepare to shut the site down soon. This was one too many and too big of a mistake for Nintendo. They lost a lot of fans and respect today. When the gaming community wasn’t taking them seriously anymore, they decided to bring toys to the E3 presentation.
Guess they are holding up for their next console, but they better NAIL the line-up for it and the next E3 presentation, because I can’t see people getting excited for a company that is so obviously letting the Wii U die and just milks people with shit tons of amiibos.
Honestly, I kinda agree on the fan respect part. This presentation didn’t give me the slightest feeling of Nintendo actually listening to, or even caring about what their fans are asking them for. This was absolutely disappointing, in so many ways.
Damn Looks Nintendo failed hard in this E3…………… Sad.
It’d be kinda cool if Mega Man, Sonic and the Inkling amiibo were supported in SMM.
They might be- I’m sure they didn’t reveal every compatible amiibo. Plus with Sonic, Pac-Man and Mega Man unlocking costumes in MK8, I’d say the sky’s the limit.
They basically showed us more new features and info on amiibo than new games. gg Nintendo.
Already milking their new cash cow… :/
So basically like that Super Mario Crossover game?
They were showing that off during the Event.
Was anyone else hoping he would turn into Captain Falcon (because we know what that would have indicated)?
2015: “Nintendo is done/irrelevant” “They only care about amiibo now”
“They don’t care”
2016, when Yooka laylee, zelda wii u, and star fox have been released, buying nintendo more time to work on their first party games (THink: Ocarina of time took 4 years, mario galaxy took 3, etc): “Nintendo is love, Nintendo is life”
This may seal the deal for me.
I’d still buy it
If the character doesn’t change to fit the Mario design we choose for the level, I’ll be disappointed. It’ll be nice to play a 3D Link & actually make him jump manually for fucking once.
