You may have seen the Japanese hardware and software charts for this week, and if you haven’t, you can view them here. One of the big pieces of news this week is the fact that the Animal Crossing spin-off Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer has sold over one million units after going on sale for less than two months. This is a pretty big achievement and it will be interesting to see how the game fares when it is released in the west shortly.

New Leaf had 2 Million in about the same time Happy Homes has been out.

Right, I think I misused the term “party”. But this is still a very simple, casual game with multiplayer mode in which you can invite other players to visit your home and such. This is appealing to a number of people, but not for me.
I wish Nintendo offered a wider array of games.

I loved New Leaf but this game just doesn’t seem fun to me at all.
Yay I can’t wait to play it with my sister whos in collage right now we’re gonna send pictures of finished designs and stuff :D also i bet miiverse will be a big part of happy home to share cute houses and schools and projects and stuff.
Not only that, but you can upload them directly to internet sites! I’ve been playing the Japanese version for 2 months now, and it’s outstanding! You can even visit other’s designs and rate them! Contest starts October 1 (assuming it’s Japan-only), but it could be for everyone.
Three of those are from me!! I have 2 digital, and 1 physical copy of the Japanese version, and 2 pre-bought for the NA version, so 5 of HHD’s copies come from me! It’s not like I’m obsessive or anything, I only own 4 copies of New Leaf!! :P
