For the 30th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros., Nintendo set some of the top designers in the industry the task of giving Mario’s iconic dungarees a style makeover in aid of the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Each designer had a different take on how Mario’s dungarees should look and here’s how they turned out:
Designer Henry Holland – who created the ‘Mushroom’ dungarees – said: “The inspiration behind the dungarees is Mario himself and my personal memories of playing Mario non-stop as a kid! I was obsessed with finding out all the new cheats and secret levels. I spent several years of my life trying to get as many mushroom lives as I could so I covered my dungarees with the very same emblem!”
Each set of dungarees will be available in the eBay charity auction on September 24th. You can check out Nintendo’s article in full here.
