The data miners have been hard at work on the recently released Super Smash Bros patch and have uncovered a few secrets. There are opening slots for three new characters and also 4 (2 Ω, 2 norm) stage slots, an increase of one each. However, it’s unclear from the data whether or not the Pirate Ship took two places. It should also be noted that the Super Smash Bros ballot ends tomorrow.

One of those character slots could be a transformation, i.e. final smash, unless I’m reading that incorrectly.
I’m going to go off of the leak I saw last year that had mewtwo and Lucas in it also and say the ice climbers and wolf will be with the ballot character
It would be nice to have Ice Climbers back, but Wolf? No thanks… So far, all the Smash Bros DLC characters have been pretty lame and not too exciting. Lucas was dumb, Roy was dumb, Ryu is dumb. Mewtwo was cool, but he wasn’t a surprise. We knew he was coming from the start.
i’m sorry but wha? ryu was awesome, though his hybrid of sf controls and smash controls still seems kinda awkward. Roy, people have been wanting back ever since his absense in brawl, and the fact that they went and luigified him enough to declone him should be shutting up the folks who hated how he was a clone. Lucas was also unique enough on his own, with his specials being the only parts that felt to similar to ness’s during brawls time.
and as for wolf? out of all the characters people kept complaining about as “clones”, wolf was the least clone-like of all of em. his specials aside from reflector were all unique enough from fox’s and falco’s to stand out, and his normal moves and aerials were NOTHING like fox/falco’s, and made him feel drastically different from em. The only part about him that was lazy and clone-like of fox, was his final smash, which really there were no excuses for that, it was sheer laziness.
I love how at this point they realize fans are going to go through the code and have to use a more generic filename.
Ridley, Shantae, & King K. Rool?
Ridley isn’t possible Sakurai said so himself, Shantae seems creditable K Rool has a mii costume so no chance there.
Sakurai says a lot of things but it doesn’t make it true. He’s lied before & he’s changed his mind before. And his stubborn ass won’t be in charge of Smash forever. Eventually, we’ll get a true representation of Ganondorf, Ridley, & whatever else he refuses to put in the game, with or without him.
he’s a stage hazard can’t people be satisfied with just that ? Plus there are better enemies that could be added. We need more female enemies as smash is a bit of a sausage fest if another metriod villan should be added i’d of said Motherbrain, And Sakurai is the creator of the game so really it’s up to him who’s in there
Mother Brain is mostly stationary & even when she is mobile, her most important feature is being gigantic & slow moving. She makes as much sense as Kraid whose most important feature is also being a gigantic, slow moving titan. Ridley, on the other hand, isn’t hindered by those things because size is not his most important feature nor was it ever. His agility, flight ability, & power has always been his defining features. As long as those are intact, he can be shrunk to a size that makes him bigger than Samus but small enough to be in the game. But as I said, Sakurai’s stubborn self won’t be in charge forever. In fact, he’s holding the franchise back at this point.

that’s a bit over the top. Just because you don’t get what you want doesn’t mean you need to say that! Stubborn or not still doesn’t justify that kind of comment.
I’m not wishing death on him. I’m simply stating the fact he won’t be around forever to enforce his tyrannical rule over Smash. With or without him, fans will get the characters they want. There’s plenty of people wanting Ganondorf to be an accurate portrayal of his character from the games & there is plenty of people wanting to play as Ridley & won’t mind him being shrunk as long as he functions as a fighter. Sooner or later, either Sakurai is going to change his mind because of the fans (best case scenario), finally steps down to let someone that will give us what we want to take over the franchise (bad case scenario) someone over him is going to make him do what the fans want because the fans that actually make this franchise a success by buying the games has the real power (worse case scenario), or he’s going to eventually die because no one can live forever (worst case scenario). The reason the best case scenario is him changing his mind is because he’ll be showing he actually he cares what his fans want out of their games instead of being bullheaded & only doing what HE wants to do with a franchise that we, the fans, inevitably buy & pay for, not HIM; he’s simply our employee, so to speak. The reason the others aren’t the best case scenarios is because it’ll prove to some of us that Sakurai only cares about himself when making his games and that’s NOT how you run a business.
ridley is easily possible, sakurai just doesn’t seem to want to take time to do it. HIs BS claim that “he’d be out of character if he’s smaller” is..well, a BS claim. He’s already forced ridley to be “out of character” by making him HELP PLAYERS WHO KNOCK HIM DOWN ON HIS STAGE. Yes, because clearly ridley would team up with someone who defeated him, yes that’s perfectly within character for him.
That excuse also falls flat when you consider how he’s treated poor ganondorf in smash, being a clone of falcon now for 3 games, being nothing like how ganon would be in zelda, yet sakurai seems to have no problems making ganondorf be “out of character”
The size argument was and always has been a poor excuse, characters are resized for smash all the time, and if a group of modders can make a working, playable ridley in brawl, there is no reason sakurai and his team of professionals can’t do it.
