Japan: Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64 DS and Final Fantasy I & II Coming To Wii U Virtual Console

Japanese gamers are in for a treat on the Wii U Virtual Console as a number of high profile games are coming to the growing service. The games set to arrive on the platform on January 6th are Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64 DS and Final Fantasy I & II. No doubt Japanese gamers will lap these games up. Those of you in Europe are already free to download Mario 64 DS on the Wii U Virtual Console.

    1. I think they meant your free as in they allow you to, not as in the game is free. Because it said you are “free to download it” and not “its free to download. But maybe not, maybe they just mistyped and it is free. Idk.

    1. I think it’s a good bet the NX will have virtual console. What they need to do with it though, is expand it further than the previous consoles did. Add more games more frequently, take polls and add the really popular ones, get more third parties on board, all that and more.

I know I’d like to see the original 2 Snowboard Kids games on VC- get on it, Atlus!

  1. I don’t understand how come it take them that long to add old games on virtual consoles. The worst is those games used to be on wii virtual console. It just silly if you ask, we should talk about it 3 years after the console has been released. I really hope nintendo will have all their games from wii and wii U virtual console library in NX within a year.
