Rumour: NoA Rep Apparently Says Petting Game In Fire Emblem Fates Is Still Up For Discussion

A number of you have sent in a message reporting to be from a customer service representative at Nintendo of America stating that the petting mini game in Fire Emblem Fates is still up for discussion and that the team haven’t decided whether to remove it. This goes against what online publication Kotaku said earlier this week. The interesting thing is the message seems to originate from GameFAQS. So take that as you will.

      1. Right: those are the Treehouse guys.

But knowing how corporations work, pretty much the Nintendo’s top bananas are the ones to trimmer all the “sensitive content”.

ROFL! I love those lists on the internet with funny names… I never forget about “Justin Case”, “Dan Druff”, “Betty B. Ready” and “Jo King”.

  1. Come on, Nintendo! I wanna pet Leon!! T_T

But seriously, this isn’t a kids game. They may need to change the diolouge or something to keep a T rating, but, I don’t think they have to really sheild players from this. Kotaku is kind of a crappy source, but if this is true, I don’t think it’s worth cutting out. If some kid wants to see stuff like that, they can go find it on the internet easily. Plus, it’s essentially gameplay they’re cutting, if they do.

Nintendo’s American Sect. Kotaku. What’s the difference again? They both have lied to us this gen at one point or another. Neither can be fully trusted. Believe nothing but suspect everything. Let the pawns go first to buy the game. When they reveal the game is missing features or had a shitload of content censored, do not buy it. Simple as that.

    1. We shouldn’t have to wait for a reveal from day-oners to confirm what’s missing and what’s not. I don’t know how ANYONE is okay with an entire section of gameplay, odd or not, is being removed with no plans for a replacement so it really is a lesser game.

The time to storm the NoA offices draws closer and closer, methinks…

      1. Sadly, that’s exactly what we’ll have to do because NoA isn’t going to tell us a damn thing about any major changes. If they told us a major portion of the game has been censored or removed, they’ll miss out on a number of sales. So keep quiet they will in the hopes that many will buy the game before they find out they’ve been scammed.

  3. Please don’t remove it, I would have to have less content and less chances to increase relationships with units simply for purchasing the US version. I would hate to be forced to do pairing battle after pairing.
