I’m afraid it’s not good news for those of you who were looking forward to playing Hyper Light Drifter on the Wii U as the developers behind the game aren’t sure whether the game is coming to the platform as it is currently in limbo. The developers alerted fans on their official Kickstarter page and had the following explanation for Wii U owners.
“We had information about our engine, two years back, when we announced support for the platform,” said Heart Machine. “This had assured us we could port to the Wii U with relatively little hassle by now.
“However, due to ongoing internal contractual issues beyond our control between the platform holder and engine developer, we just don’t know when or if this situation will have a good resolution.
“We are looking into the options available and doing what we can to help push the issue.”
The developer said it will still offer the Wii U option in the Surveys sent out to backers; however, if Wii U is chosen as the preferred platform, and the team is “unable to support it this year,” a key on another platform of the backer’s choice will be offered.
“We would rather keep this option open, knowing there’s still a possibility for it to work, than cancel the port right now,” the post continued. “Please understand business can sometimes get in the way of production.
“There’s only so much we can do to help sway these types of events with larger entities. We’ll keep everyone updated as soon as we know more.”

“Please understand”
Bitch thinks their Iwata

Lol, this is why people have second thoughts about backing kickstarters, because developers promise to much, and they never deliver… Smh
Playtonic with Yooka-Laylee is the only Kickstarter Campaign to trust.
That my friend is true.
Well that kind of suxks, I was looking forward to that game. If Little Devil Inside doesn’t make it to Wii U, ima be pissssed.
~*In other words, it’s being moved to the NX. Shame as the game looks more fun & interesting than I originally gave it credit for.*~
~*Oh wait! I got a PS4, so I don’t have to wait for NX! Nevermind!*~
So they promised to bring a GameMaker to Wii U, even if the system doesn’t support the engine? Do I have it right, are they this idiotic?
-||According to my scans, they said they are having problems with contracts, still imbeciles though||-
I never even heard of this game before and it doesn’t interest me at all. Though “due to ongoing internal contractual issues beyond our control between the platform holder and engine developer” I’ve never heard of a contractual issue preventing a game being ported to a certain platform before…that sounds fishy to me.
Will get on the vita
