Drew Barrymore Becoming Brand Ambassador For Pokemon Fashion Efforts

Actress Drew Barrymore has become a “brand ambassador” for Pokemon‘s fashion efforts. As part of Pokemon’s 20th anniversary, Barrymore held a Pokemon Afternoon Soiree party at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood yesterday.

Barrymore herself gave multiple reasons why she wanted to do this. The “playfulness and fun” in Pokemon’s fashion, which she compared to “what Moschino and Opening Ceremony and Rodarte are currently doing”, was a factor in her decision. However, a desire to “figure out how to translate Pokemon’s outfits into the world” and to have “iconic children-oriented things” also played a significant role. The final reason given was a simple one, and that was how “happy” the Pokemon brand is.

There has been no word from Nintendo about Barrymore’s hiring at this time.

    1. Commander… Drew Barrymore is an iconic film star who appeared in movies like E.T, Firestarter, Cat’s Eye, and Charlie’s Angels & Charlie’s Angel’s: Full Throttle.

      1. Don’t mind him. I think he’s part of the group in MNN that thinks if it’s not news they want to hear that it’s not really news.

  1. Not sure how I feel about Drew Barrymore being in league with The Pokemon Company. I hope they don’t hurt her reputation with their bogus lawsuits.
