Playtonic, the developers behind the adorable Yooka-Laylee, have produced a brand new video giving an extensive look at the game. Unfortunately with the video comes news that the game has been delayed from this year to the first quarter of 2017. However, the game looks to be shaping up to be a truly great 3D platformer so no doubt the delay will give the team time to give the game even more love and polish. Think of it like this. We’re actually getting visual progress reports for this, unlike mighty no. 9 which didn’t show anything until their shitty trailer a month and a half before its unexplained half year delays. At least Playtonic is showing promising progress, and continuously adding new characters to their universe.

I’m super excited for this! I loved Banjo-Kazooie, and while I don’t know all the details about this game, it looks like it’s shaping up to be just as great as Banjo-Kazooie was. :) Good job, Playtonic!
This is no surprise to me, I always thought this year was an ambitious target for them. What I will say is that from this trailer the game is looking fantastic. I’ve always felt Banjo Kazooie is overrated, and probably wouldn’t fit into my top 10 3D platformers. It’s good, but it’s just not quite as good as everyone says. This to me looks like the game that is everything that Banjo Kazooie is supposed to be, because it’s not being held back by the limitations of the hardware. Could be a Day 1 for me.

Considering the time when the Kickstarter was complete for this game, they would’ve only had a year and a half. I was almost completely sure that they’d delay it.
I’m still fucking happy that I backed this game… My money was well spent…

Precisely. There is at least one stage in DKCTF I can remember of in which we have exactly the same mechanics, like going in circles around an axis riding a minecart. That’s pretty cool.
