Genshin Impact gets Nintendo Switch account Login Manager prompting Switch 2 speculation

The latest version of the popular Gacha game Genshin Impact has apparently added Nintendo Switch to the in-game account login manager internally presumably meaning you can link your Nintendo Account to the game. The anime-inspired adventure would struggle to run on the original Nintendo Switch so this is most likely in relation to a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. HoYoverse did say a few years back that the game would come to the Nintendo Switch, though this was likely scrapped in favour of its more powerful successor. An official announcement has yet to be made by HoYoverse.

  1. Oh dang that is pretty huge. Personally I’d play ZZZ if it was on Switch 2 but this is a great addition. I wonder if other gacha games will come? Bulkier hardware and storage space with a large install base, it makes much more sense than traditional console ports they’ve seen before, since Switch 2 is portable as well

  2. Nintendo Direct in June is near. The game was mentioned a couple years back with no updates and I knew they will moved it to the powerful Nintendo Switch 2 system.

    1. Anonymous Skywalker

I don’t think they confirmed they were porting it, I’m pretty sure they said they wanted to and were looking into if it were possible.

      1. This was actually 6 years ago, but they posted an official trailer for the game on their channel. They never formally canceled it though

        1. That’s what I was thinking of. I thought there was some contention between the dev of this and Nintendo because the game had “similarities” to BotW and that had caused a delay and ultimately some kind of cancelation?

          1. Yes true. But the game will have a hard time to run on the original Switch due to its choppy frame rates and glitches to some other games like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This might be the real reason why they didn’t give us updates about the game’s status on Switch 1.

  3. I always wanted to try this game since I like roleplaying games, but the fanbase turned me off. Maybe I will try it if it comes to switch 2. Is the game any good for anyone who has played it?
