As promised the team over at Natsume have stayed true to their promise and have unleashed the debut trailer for Harvest Moon: Skytree Village for the Nintendo 3DS. Natsume does not own RF series. That is Marvelous AQLs, and the team that made Rune Factory disbanded a while ago, but Marvelous AQL took a bunch of the developers and so there might be some RF games in the future. But this Harvest Moon game is only Harvest Moon in name, the original series is now called Story of Seasons.
A shame, too, because Harvest Moon is such an awesome name while Story of Seasons is bland compared to it.
Having played a lot of Stardew Valley, this just seems like a huge bummer.
It’s looks far better than Natsume’s first Harvest Moon. It doesn’t look terribly cheap and quickly thrown together. That being said it still seems very limited compared to Bokujō Monogatari games. It looks a lot more playable but still doesn’t have the same charm. It’s a shame Harvest Moon is continuing the title when they clearly don’t know how to.
