US: Around 7.5 Million People Have Downloaded Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO has been nothing short of a resounding success for both Niantic and Nintendo. Intelligence firm Sensor Tower estimates that approximately 7.5 million iOS and Android owners have downloaded Pokemon Go in the United States since it launched there on Wednesday. The game is expected to arrive in other regions within days, so keep an eye out!

“Pokémon Go as so far managed to generate $14.04 million across mobile platforms since its release,” SuperData Research analyst Joost van Dreunen said in a statement. “[This puts] it ahead of other titles using the franchise, including Pokémon Shuffle Mobile which has earned an estimated $14.03 million since its release in August 2015.”

  1. I’m kind of surprised that so many people are doing in-app purchases, but I might have to buy some Poké balls soon if I can’t find more PokéSpots. I still think that the in-app purchases are a little pricey.

      1. I probably would at first. But as someone who works 5/ a week and already has more games to play than can handle, I’ll just skip it altogether. I personally don’t enjoy gaming on phone’s, not enough room, less responsive, hot device’s, the list can go on. But hey, if it’s bringing in the cash flow for Nintendo, I’ve got no beef with that.

        1. yeah i work 5 days a week as well, i’ve just been playing on my breaks at work and when i walk my dog, the fact that it motivates me to walk more is a good thing too!
