Pokemon GO Has Made Nintendo More Valuable Than Sony And Is Now Japan’s Largest Tech Company

nintendo's company logo

The launch of Pokemon GO has helped Nintendo overtake rival hardware manufacturer Sony. The smash hit mobile game has seen Nintendo’s shares more than double since the launch of Pokemon GO two weeks ago. Nintendo is now Japan’s largest tech company. We reported earlier that Pokemon GO will launch in Japan tomorrow which should see further share price increases. Pokemon GO seems unstoppable at the moment.

    1. The absolute best time, would have been in 2013 when the wii u was losing 3rd party support and turning out to be a flop. I thought about buying back then too, but I was too broke to buy stock. Still am. But somehow I come up with the coin to buy Nintendo games… hmmm….

      1. We are all morons. That is what should happened, whenever a company that has proven to stick around for a while and has a solid foundation (in Ninteno’s case its IP) you have to see the low points as merely investment windows. I think we all learned something, even though in the future we might not be able to capitalize on it again. For myself, I just am not a Pokemon fan and articles about any upcoming games or apps were simply not on my radar. Shame on me.

      2. I’ve been trading NTDOY almost exclusively for a few years. I was a bag holder at $19 for over a year until I just sold at $33. I know it’ll ramp up and reach wii type heights once mobile, NX, themeparks, TV, movies come out. I just don’t think it’s right now. This was too high too fast. At least I hope I’m right. I feel like we’ll see one more dip below $20 and if we do I’ll buy one or two thousand shares and just hold. I’m actually surprised Nintendo is finally looking to get into parks/tv/movies like Disney. There’s a tremendous opportunity for them to be a much bigger company. Hopefully the revenue streams allow them to feel adventurous when it comes to budgets for their hardware/software.

        1. You have to appreciate the sheer genius of the fact that even though The Pokemon company is only getting like 10 percent of the profits from this game, the publicity has driven sales of other pokemon games and merch through the roof. They knew it was going to be a megahit when they negotiated the deal with Niantic. They are letting Niantic take the majority of the profits because they know that poke go is going to drive business for other pokemon related stuff. 3ds hardware and pokemon software are up over 120 percent. Genius! I couldnt be happier for Nintendo :)

    1. Well let’s see:
Sony lost over $78.9 Million dollars thanks to Ghostbuster (2016) being a total failure and now they’ve been overtaken by Nintendo.

Nintendo launches an app on ANDROID AND IOS devices and suddenly becomes the richest company in Japan.

… I think Sony should just quit and join up with Nintendo again, because you have to remember that Sony are still losing money on the PS3 and are currently losing money on the PS4 despite sales.

In other words, God of War, Last Guardian 2, Killzone, Infamous, Naughty Dog games and many of the other IPs Sony owns will probably be on a Nintendo platform in the future if Nintendo keeps dominating. Can’t wait to rip Norse gods heads off on my Nintendo NX as Kratos ;D

      1. LOL!!! Right you are bro. That’s why you can never count Nintendo out. Just when you think they’re done they come out of nowhere with something unique, addicting and fun that millions of games abroad can gravitate to. Get N or get out bro

      2. It’s scary how quick Nintendo came back. It took one game and one mobile app and BOOM! They just overtook Sony just like that. What a time to be an Nintendo fan!

          ||You haven’t seen anything yet comrade, our power will reach the stars…||

        2. As I kept telling you guys before, Nintendo will always have tricks up their sleeves, never count them out. paidenthusiast, Peridot Gem, thank you for reminding people. However, I wouldn’t count or count on sony coming to nintendo, or microsoft. Trust me, the fanboy in me is saying “YEAH I’M WITH YOU *bazookas, rocket launchers, and war heads oh my*”, but my gamer side is saying, it will be better if they don’t join in for the sheer fact of competition of the gaming market. Think about it, if they do, there wouldn’t be much of a choice to choose which system you want.

          1. Honestly, I can agree with you. It wouldn’t be as satisfying if Sony and Microsoft were quick to run to Nintendo.

        3. So a mobile app that’s still very buggy and unstable was enough for you all to think Nintendo redeemed themselves after all the missteps they’ve made in the past years? Don’t get me wrong, I love the concept of Pokemon Go and enjoy it a lot, but an app (which Niantic deserves most of the credit for, imo) certainly isn’t enough for me to say “Nintendo is back”. What I want are great consoles with a steady flow of good games.
Nintendo needs to work a lot on themselves for me to see them in the same light as I once used to, and it’s the upcoming years that will show me whether or not they have learned. The new Zelda is a step in the right direction.
However, them being the most valuable company in Japan doesn’t do anything for me, I don’t get anything out of that. Do you? How does it affect you positively in any way, in case you don’t own any shares?

          1. Exactly what I was saying in another article. Nintendo is reaping the benefits while Niantic gets ignored. But the moment I so much as tried to put some blame on Nintendo for the app doing badly when it first released, some of these people (Peridot Gem, Brandon Hardacre, ninjadude99) were so quick to say “Nintendo isn’t at fault.” They (Peridot Gem, Brandon Hardacre) sure are quick to give Nintendo praise for the app being successful, though. But apparently I’m just whining, according to Brandon Headache and Peridolt Gem. Whatever. Biased fanboys will be biased.

            1. Yea, without Niantic’s (probably unmatched) experience in location-based mobile games, I’m sure Pokemon Go wouldn’t be even close to what it is now. Nintendo definitely made the best decision to go with Niantic for a Pokemon game of this scale. But as you’ve implied, it’s really unfortunate they’re not getting the recognition and praise they deserve, everyone just credits Nintendo without mention of the actual studio that was behind the main challenge of developing the game. Not saying Nintendo doesn’t deserve any credit at all, by any means. Obviously, it wouldn’t be possible without them either. It’s just that Niantic is responsible for the game’s key mechanics, as far as I can tell.
And yea, just like people know how to praise Nintendo for Pokemon Go, they should know how to criticize them when it’s due, which I’ve seen many people outside this website do.

              1. The reason Niantic isnt getting the recognition is because they are a private company. Their stocks are not open to the public, there for they are reaping NO beneifits from wall street and the stock market. Nintendo however is a public company, and anyone who wants to buy stocks can. Thats why Nintendo stocks shot up, thats why Nintendo is getting all the recognition… Its all about money. Investors could give a shit less who made the game.

                1. Since when is praising someone always connected to investing money in them? Since when are investors the only ones capable of praising?
You don’t have to buy shares or put money towards a company to give them recognition for their outstanding work.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone on media (especially social media) give Niantic some credit for Pokemon Go. Not saying there’s 0 people even mentioning them, I’m sure some did, but not quite enough imo, because, well, Nintendo has been reaping the praise in some way indeed.

                  1. Because out of sight out of mind. If everytime you got onto the internet and saw countless articles saying, “Niantics stock up 100%”, or “Niantics stocks double in one day”, you would probably see more people outside of investors giving some recognition to niantic. But you dont see that. You see all the Nintendo articles. Add to that that 99% of people have no fucking clue who Niantic is, well than you have the answer to your previous post.

                    1. And why do most people not know who or what Niantic is? Because they don’t get the recognition from media. That’s the whole point.

And my previous comment didn’t actually need an answer, it was merely my personal observation, really. This whole Niantic stuff turned into a much bigger discussion than I would have assumed, it was originally just a very small remark in my initial comment, haha.

                      1. Yellow Journalism, if that’s the right term to use for this, at it’s finest! The media only tells you what they want you to hear. Like the ones only talking about the sexist/misogynist comments about Ghostbusters 2016 which ultimately puts people like me that aren’t even upset about the all female cast look like we’re part of those losers.

              2. Or it’s more of the fact that you’re finding reasons to shit on Pokemon Go and Nintendo since you hate mobile and casual stuff so much. Loving and praising the product, on technical terms is still praising the developer. You’re telling me, that thousands of people are enjoying their product and Niantic should be appalled that the audience didn’t mention the developer directly? Ridiculous. It’s highly unlikely Niantic saw all this buzz and didn’t feel proud they created such a success.

              3. But seriously. Stop acting like Niantic published it, Nintendo stole it, published it somewhere else and got all the glory like with art thieves. That is far from accurate. Niantic willingly worked on it and gave the final product to Nintendo for them to publish. That’s always been how it is with gaming in general. Are you telling me Sony should get praise for the new God of War when they didn’t even make it themselves? It’s the same case for Nintendo and Niantic. Don’t believe Nintendo blew off Niantic with no appreciation.

                1. No, it’s not the same. God of War is being developed by Sony Santa Monica, a studio that’s part of Sony – so yes, they technically did make it themselves.
Niantic, however, does not belong to Nintendo.

                  1. It’s basically the same thing but with minor differences. When a studio works on something and sends to the publisher. They still get praise.

                    1. lmao, if there are differences, it is not the same.
And no, the differences aren’t just minor, they’re actually crucial. Sony Santa Monica is Sony, so praising Sony means praising the developer, because it is Sony who developed the game.
Niantic is not Nintendo. But Niantic developed the game. Niantic should be getting credit for the gameplay Pokemon Go offers.
You say praising the publisher is the same thing as praising the developer. So, do you think it would be alright for the Japanese to praise Square Enix for Overwatch, since Square Enix published it in Japan?

That being said, I wasn’t even trying to make a huge deal out of this “plz praise Niantic” thing, I literally only mentioned it in less than a sentence in brackets in my first comment, but it turned into something much bigger than I would have expected, hah. It’s really not a gigantic deal to me, it’s just something I thought was worth mentioning. But yea, life ain’t fair, and I’m aware things like this happen. I don’t think it’s okay, I do think Niantic deserves more credit, but it can’t be helped anymore at this point.

                      1. Yes it can’t be helped. Whining over the fact that Nintendo is getting credit is pointless and just overall stupid.

                      2. Oh man, and here I was thinking you might actually be capable of holding up a somewhat decent discussion. How disappointing. :(

                1. It has nothing to do with being clever. I’m using it to insult you, Nintendo Apologist Fanboy Brandon Headache.

              1. Superb job at raising points proving the things I’ve mentioned unsubstantiated, and not resorting to empty remarks.
Thank you for your very valuable input, it has changed my view on the entire matter.

            2. You’re acting like they’ve been fucking up constantly before the Wii U which is far from the truth. They experimented and it failed. It was bound to happen. Breath of the Wild proves that the old risk taking Nintendo has always been alive. They just messed up once and lots turned against them. It’s sad.

              1. Certainly wasn’t constantly, but it’s not really just the WiiU itself that has made me personally get less and less enthusiastic about them as a whole.

              2. That’s the thing. They WERE fucking up before the Wii U.

N64: they fucked up by sticking with cartridges when the others were going with disc, thus the arguably more powerful console got it’s ass kicked.

Gamecube: they fucked up by going with smaller discs and ironically not making the console more multimedia by including a CD/DVD reader, thus the more powerful console got it’s ass kicked again.

Wii: they fucked up by not going with HD and not making the console more internet friendly by including a universal account system so your shit was console locked if it was an online game so if you lost your console, your purchases were also lost.

Wii U: bad marketing, still no universal account system, triple A game droughts, lack of M rated games, too much censorship for even games that don’t need it because the fucking rating gives leeway to some forms of nudity & bad language (T rating) or a rating that allows most forms of nudity as long as it doesn’t show sexual intercourse (M rating.)

                  1. “Before the Wii U and maybe the Wii no one cared.” Considering N64 and GCN got their asses kicked by the other consoles as some Nintendo fans left them for Sony, obviously people fucking cared. Don’t be fucking stupid.

                    1. They still made lots more good games then didn’t they? So what if the console wasn’t perfect. As long as it isn’t the Wii U. Sheesh I can see why Nintendo wouldn’t want to pander to the hardcore audience all the time.

                1. You’ve forgotten that by your logic. Nintendo has never been up front of the competition. Which is a good thing. They’re never going to end up Sega. Nintendo isn’t trying to be ahead of the competition. Which made Sega crash and burn.

          2. Nintendo’s back? Really? Maybe from a financial view point they are, but in that regard they were never down to begin with. Where’s the new Nintendo game? (besides a phone game) Why haven’t I turned on my Wii U in months? The fact is, 2016 has been the worst year to be a Nintendo fan since I can remember. Everybody really needs to calm down about Nintendo. Pokemon Go is a huge success. Its a worldwide phenom. But Nintendo did not develop the game, nor are they reaping most of the benefits from it. Im still sitting here with no new Nintendo games…. With Nintendo it seems lately we are always waiting on a promise that never comes…

            1. You’ve forgotten that when the game fails the developer is not blamed. Nintendo takes it full force + 25%

              1. Actually Nintendo is getting 30% of Pokémon GO’s profits. This whole ” nor are they reaping most of the benefits from it ” nonsense that some of these people keep throwing up is utter bullshit. Nintendo owns the Pokémon IP and The Pokémon Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nintendo so Pokémon GO’s success is Nintendo’s success regardless of what anyone says bro

          3. Imfao look how butthurt these people are over my statement. Heh. Whiners never change. They’ll always find a reason to complain.

            1. Because you said Nintendo is back. One popular phone game does not make up for two years of lackluster content, and another year on the horizon. They may be financially back, but not ….back.

              1. Pokemon Go was a success and Nintendo is obviously going to try something out of that and expand the success rate. They’re good as back currently. NX is looking promising too. Problem is, diehards like Kalas are trying to shame Nintendo for doing their own thing and never constantly try to plow through their competition. Which on Kalas’ logic they never have. They just sat back and watched companies fuck each other up like with Sega for example.

                1. Let me explain: They were down because of the Wii U. They at least made decent consoles every time before. Wasn’t the best but it was good.

                  1. “damage controlling” yeah sure okay dude. You’re acting like Nintendo can’t learn from their mistakes. They HAD to have noticed the internet blowing up over Go and Breath of the Wild.

                    1. You guys are just too easy. Nintendo can control you like puppets. After everything that’s happened with the Wii U, all it takes is for them to release a mobile game and a new Zelda to make you forgive them. Everything is always irrelevant unless Nintendo does it. Mobile games were irrelevant and only for casuals until Nintendo jumped into it! When Pokemon GO is a success, you’re jumping and down congratulating them. But whenever Nintendo isn’t succesful like with the Wii U, it doesn’t matter. “Sales don’t matter”. Lmao. And as for Zelda Breath of the Wild, if HAD to be good considering how LONG EVERYONE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR IT. Zelda was teased as one of the games to look forward to before the Wii U was even released and now we’re at the point of moving to the next system. Even a new Star Fox that came out of nowhere got here first. Lol. “Nintendo is back.” No, I don’t think so. You’re probably only talking about financially, but even before, they already had a lot of money. This just means they have more money in the bank to deliver more disappointments now. Lol.

                      1. Strawmen. Strawmen everywhere. You’re trying to use past failures as if they can’t learn from them and basically you’re trying to say holding out and having hope makes us cocksuckers. Pathetic.

                      2. Like I said, Hollow. Big waste of time. Just smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave!

                          1. Or, I just accepted their failures and I chose to stay with Nintendo? That’s my personal opinion. Your attempts to shame me for it fall flat.

                            1. Never said you had to leave Nintendo. I accepted their failures too, otherwise I wouldn’t be here. You said Nintendo was back and that they overtook Sony and that is what made me facepalm. Nintendo already has a lot of money. What difference does this make? Wii U is still stuck with no major third party support. The logic doesn’t add up. How’s Sony getting more games even though they’re apparently losing money? How come Sony is willing to take the risk of losing money to make a console powerful enough to please developers? But Nintendo who’s got all this cash won’t? And most importantly, how does a mobile game being successful mean they’re back? Back from WHAT? Nintendo didn’t do mobile games before! If their mobile games are successful, then great. I’m not hating against that. But their handhelds and consoles are what matter most. The poor Wii U is sitting in a corner still missing out on games, but since Pokemon GO is such a hit, everything is ok. How about no? And don’t get me wrong, not saying you are wrong for being happy for them, but saying they are back and overtaking Sony is clearly not true. Nintendo is so far away from what they used to be, it’s not even funny. Nintendo will never be back until we get

-Tons of third party support. No need to even ask if a game is coming to their platform.

-Console up to par or at least not very far behind competition. No it doesn’t need to be 8K 240fps or whatever, just needs to not struggle so bad against the others running games.

-And most importantly, amazing Nintendo exclusives.

Nintendo’s exclusives are still good, but good enough to constantly miss out on third party games every generation? No.

I’m not saying this as a Nintendo hater because I don’t hate Nintendo. Although, I do make jokes every now and then about how they disappointed me. Believe me, if I hated Nintendo, or if it ever gets to the point that I do, I’d have said just that. “Disappointment” and “hate” are two different words.

                                  1. I said that they’re good as back because of their recent successes like Breath of the Wild. They will realize that.

                              1. Me, you, Deepsouth, and Namie are all wasting our time on him. He’s got a real hard on for defending Nintendo, making excuses for them, and outright apologizing for their fucking up. Nintendo Apologists, or any apologist fanboy for that matter, can’t be bargained with. They can’t be reasoned with. And they absolutely will not stop, ever, until you agree with their bullshit. (Terminator FTW!)

                                  1. You might want to check up on Peridot Gem. I’m not sure but he might end up defending Metroid Prime: FedshitForce when it releases.

                                    1. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

                                      ||My stance regarding anything Metroid is the only one that matters anyway…||

                                    1. Oh I’m sure it will be a decent game so you will defend it. But that’s not our issue. Our issue is the fact it’s trying to be a METROID game with that fucking kid friendly artstyle when it’s not nor will it ever be. Like I said a thousand times before, if you wouldn’t try to make Alien with a kid friendly artstyle, why would you do it with Metroid which the game franchise is inspired by? If this was being released as a brand new IP, it wouldn’t be creating the shitstorm it is now and we’d instead be wondering when we’ll get a new Metroid.

                                      1. Yes you’re right. Some different art style means it’s automatically bad- XD look. It’s not trying to be Shadow the Hedgehog edge with an chibi art style like this. If Alien did some sort of chibi thing with different main characters entirely and it feels like a spinoff. It could work out. Plus it gives something for Metroid fans to chew on while they wait.

                                        1. Wow. You really are a Nintendo Apologist. Like Hollow said, Nintendo must be giving you some money for you to be damage controlling this hard.

                                          1. You wish. You never heard of opinions and preferences huh? Federate Force has somewhat a chance of filling a gap Other M left. If you can’t accept that because it doesn’t look the way you like. That’s not my problem.

                                            1. When it comes to Metroid, fuck other people’s opinions and preferences if it’s in defense of that chibi bullshit Nintendo is pulling with FedshitForce. If your preference is a party game for casuals to play with a kid friendly artstyle, go fucking play Splatoon and leave Metroid the hell alone.

                                              1. Trying to say the way I’m acting is bad. Imfao you’re being 10x worse. Whiny Metroid babies smh.

                                                1. Oh the irony. Being called a whiny bitch by a whiny Nintendo fanbitch whining because we won’t change our opinion about a shit game trying to pass itself off as Metroid. But I’ll rephrase some of my words. If you want a party shooter game with kiddy graphics, go play Splatoon & stay away from Metroid.

                                                  1. You lost. I don’t care if you don’t like it, but don’t start insulting me for giving it a chance jackass.

                                                    1. You are an idiot casual player of Metroid if you want to give that abomination a chance. So as Quadraxis said, you aren’t a Metroid fan if you want to give that shit a chance or support it.

                                                      1. Nice contradiction, and you were saying you weren’t whiny. Hilarious how you’re trying to say I’m a casual player of the Metroid series because I keep an open mind. As I said, you lost. You’re only making a bigger fool out of yourself if you’re still trying to jab at me for giving the “abomination” a chance to see if it’s good. So by your stupid logic since I’m not making an ass out of myself and deciding not to whine that means I’m not a Metroid fan? Please tell me this is lowkey bait to trigger me for laughs.

                                                        1. You talk as if you won when, in reality, we both lost since we both resorted to insulting each other. And because you’ll support a game that isn’t Metroid and will probably defend it simply because you had fun and not because it was a good METROID game and because I’ll have to deal with people like you sticking up for a terrible Metroid game all because you had fun and could have given two shits about the realistic artstyle Metroid has always gone for. Just like others have had to deal with me defending Other M because I loved the gameplay instead of seeing that the game wasn’t really a good Metroid game because of how it handled Samus.

                                                          1. I’m not sticking up for anything. I only said I’ll stick up for it if it’s good.

                                                          2. All I see from you is “WAHH I CAN’T ACCEPT A MINOR CHANGE THAT’S LIKELY A ONE TIME THING” Like seriously. Get the hell over it. Also, how the hell is Federate Force a party game dumbass? It has the exact same gameplay as any other Metroid shooter. Way to prove you’re nothing but a whiny bitch.

                                            2. And don’t forget Sony is making more shit films once in a while like the upcoming Emoji film. I mean, who the fuck even asked for it other than the retarded children that love spamming them in their YouTube comments?

At this point, their PlayStation line and IP’s are the only redeeming thing about the company.

                                            3. Unless Sony is put in charge of the hardware and thus give us awesome, powerful Nintendo consoles and handhelds with no forced gimmicks, no thanks.

                                              1. Not really, Sony and Microsoft make losses on their hardware all the time.
Nintendo doesn’t take a hit because they don’t sell their systems at a lose which is usually due to the cheaper hardware they use.

Sorry if I triggered you with facts

                                                1. Are you for real? You’re using an article from September 3 years ago to prove your false statement. The PS4 wasn’t even out back then, lmaoo. Are you actively trying to strip yourself from any kind of credibility you possibly could have had? I don’t understand.
What I truly wonder about, though, is how hard you had to search to find that article, considering it only takes a simple “PS4 profitable” to find out the console started making money a couple months after launch. PS3 turned profitable a long time ago too. Do you not know how to use Google?
I refuse to believe you are real.

And to reply to your comment above: no, I’m not triggered by your “””facts”””, I’m actually in a weird state of confusion and amusement because I really can’t believe you’re being serious with all of these ridiculous comments of yours.

                                                  1. You’re right when it comes to PS4. They mostly gained money. But the PS3 was the Titanic sinking. The little they made for its twilight years didn’t come close to cover the 2 BILLION NINETY NINE US DOLLARS they lost.

                                                    1. A console being profitable means it has sold enough to cover the costs it had previously caused, and brings in profit with every unit sold.
The PS3 did make money, and is making some to this day, considering it’s still being sold. Did it take a long time for it to happen due to the terrible start? Certainly. But did it cover its expenses eventually? It did.

                                            4. So Pokemon Go will get us Ape Escape, Tomba, Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil, and the Crash and Spyro games, plus Street Fighter III, IV, V, and any Capcom game released exclusively on the Playstation?

                                        2. Wow. I knew Nintendo was gonna dominate the mobile gaming market but like this?……I must admit I didn’t. Once Pokémon GO hits Japan expect those shares to quadruple. At this rate if Pokémon GO keeps going at the same pace it’s been going Nintendo may end being valued at 50 billion of higher lol

                                          1. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

                                            ||Lord Kimishima said he would quadruple the profits, quadruple power, quadruple everything plus me as their embodiment of quadruples, our victory is assured…||

                                          2. You know, thats great and all. I love to see Nintendo prosper. But at the end of the day Im still sitting here with no new Nintendo games to play. You all can let Nintendo off the hook if you want, I refuse to. 2016 was the worst year Nintendo has had since I can remember. And I’m thinking all the way back to the 80’s..(obviously besides Pokemon Go) Their Console is selling at an all time low, and so is their software. No new games, constant disappointments, (Star Fox Zero Im looking at you) and Zelda is a year away….. Like I said, Im happy for Nintendo, but that doesnt change how depressed I am about their current situation…. I do have high hopes for the NX though.

                                        4. Share go up and down so I wouldn’t gloating about Sony being behind Nintendo. One wrong decision and Nintendo share will fall. Saying that we should enjoy the moment and give to fingers up to Patcher. I hope Nintendo will grab the momentum and be able to ride on the waves of success. But given Nintendo past history I have my doubts. So when do we have more wii u games then lol :-)

                                        5. Shame it took a mobile game to raise Nintendo’s stocks and profits instead of an awesome game like Breath of the Wild. *shrug* Well as long as this results in Nintendo moving their shit games like Wii Fit, etc to mobile phones and tablets which frees up space for better, fully fleshed out games, keep at it, Niantic! The last thing NX needs is a bunch of shit casual games mucking up the console. Put them on mobile where they belong and will actually flourish because trying to repeat the Wii is a dumb, stupid idea.

                                          1. Naw. If Nintendo wasn’t smart enough to buy Capcom when they had the chance, they won’t be smart enough to buy Sony. Then again, they couldn’t afford to buy out Sony since that company is doing just fine. Sure some of it’s divisions are failing but it’s gaming division is still going strong.

                                          2. What you just said isn’t a win-win. Only two consoles left means one of them is going to have total control. If Nintendo still didn’t get third party and it all went to Xbox, you’re SOL. Nothing you can do about it.

                                            1. And even though PS4 is outselling Xbox One, it’s still has its place here in the console market. The two of them balance each other out. They fight each other with different exclusive games, console bundles, discounts, etc. If it were not for the PS4, Xbox One would be in control instead. *shudders*

                                          3. Lance Matthew Bulmer

i see your logic there be nice to see the tales series go to nintendo platforms plus the nx may even get tales of vesperia a game i wanted to play but the xbox controller feels very uncomfortable, and even though i dont like siding with Quadarixs Nintendo does have more fire power ow even if it is due to a mobile game that gets people out their homes and can eithe lead them of cliffs or on the recieving end of a gunshot.

                                        6. i’d like to know what Iwata would say about this.i bet he’s watching from the sky saying to sony and microsoft “please understand, we are here to saty” and then smiles.
you are smiling uh, big man?

                                          1. It fluctuates. I believe Nintendo was ahead of Sony in 2013.. Then Sony jumped back ahead in 2014, now Nintendo jumped back ahead in 2016. Fanboys will be fanboys, let them cheer. Nintendo stocks go up and they go down. They are up now.

                                        7. SUCK IT, NAYSAYERS!

Nintendo, Niantic, The Pokemon Co. way to go guys.

Now lets take all this positive energy and put it towards some killer console games and new IP’s.

Lets see the great things we know Nintendo is capable of.
