Nintendo Japan has announced that it plans to release ten Wii games on the Wii U eShop over the next five weeks. The pricing for the Wii games will be 2,700 Yen and My Nintendo users will get thirty percent off for the launch-period. Here’s the games coming!
- Xenoblade
- Rhythm Heaven Fever
- Super Paper Mario
- Project Zero 2: Wii Edition
- Kirby’s Epic Yarn
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Mario Strikers Charged
- Mario Super Sluggers
- Wario Land Shake It
- Mario Sports Mix

Quick Question: If one buys a Wii game through the shop does one still have to use the Wii controller or can we just play with the WiiU game pad?
If the game doesn’t require the Wii Remote and can be played with a classic controller then it should be playable with the GamePad :)
If they could just bring Mario Sluggers to Europe, I’d be so happy!..
YES RHYTHM HEAVEN
Nice. But how about N64 and GameCube? Barely anything from them thus far. I guess NX still get them. Or maybe we just won’t get them on VC at all if NX doesn’t end up having one. I was really hoping for some old games from those consoles on VC.
I don’t know about N64 (since we already have some games for the Wii U Virtual Console), but perhaps Nintendo considers still considers it as too soon (but that doesn’t make sense since they have the Wii on VC).
I don’t know, but like you said, I guess we’ll have to wait until the NX VC for GameCube (I was kind of hoping to see Smash Bros. Melee in there). :/
I will say this, though: the Wii Virtual Console did a much better job (and was a lot more consistent; even the American one had some Japan-only imports). What happened? Why is VC this time around so dried up?
