Nintendo recent financial report contains a release schedule for upcoming games on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. One causality of a delay is Dragon Quest VIII which has been pushed back to 2017 in Europe. There’s no specified date other than a broad 2017 listing, but gamers in North America should still be getting the acclaimed JRPG this year.
I don’t understand why nippon firms are so scare about putting those kind of games on the wii u or home console in general. Furthermore given the lack of RPG in the market and the modest success of xenoblade chronicles X,the much love art style of toriyama San and the reception of final fantasy in general. I don’t get it, even more when we know that despite the game is overpriced in Europe, the sales are OK.
That would be due to the general belief that home consoles are a shrinking market in Japan. It’s the opposite situation in the West, funnily enough.
It’s even worse than because the like of squarenix Europe and US sales offices do a very bad job at reporting sales figures and the state of the market in their respective territories . Then why the like of final fantasy have some success ?
Does it though? Last time I checked, Final Fantasy titles were declining fast in profitability. FFXV has good enough marketing to reverse that, but you never know with Square.

I think this is great news! Having two mainline remake DQ games released in the same year would probably just hurt sales.
