Retro Pokemon cards can fetch a pretty price and one that recently went to auction sold for a whopping $54,970 (aprox. £44,000). The card was a ‘Pikachu Illustrator’ card which was sold in mint condition and was given to winners of the 1998 CoroCoro Comic Ullustration Contest. Kotaku reports that less than 40 copies of the card that were ever released to the public and interestingly there are only 10 in existence that are recognised as in mint condition.
Pokémon Card Sells For $54,970

Put the value of all of my Pokémon cards together, and they’d be worth only 5% of this card.
I gave all of my Pokemon cards to my niece after I lost all interest in Pokemon.
