An official post from Eric Barone, Stardew Valley’s developer, has confirmed that the Wii U version of Stardew Valley has been cancelled on Wii U and that development has shifted over to the Nintendo Switch. He said that “Stardew Valley will not be coming to the Wii U. Looking at Wii U and the current gaming landscape, we made the difficult choice to shift our development efforts to creating a version for Nintendo Switch. I am really looking forward to the Switch, and I believe that the Switch’s unique capabilities could create some exciting opportunities for Stardew Valley. I do want to emphasize that I am absolutely committed to seeing Stardew Valley on Nintendo platforms, and I really do appreciate your support and understanding in this.”
Stardew Valley Has Been Cancelled On Wii U, Development Has Shifted Over To The Switch

Good.
Rip Wii U, bout time
I think this is a wise decision even though I really would have liked it on the Wii U as I will probably wait a while before buying a switch.
If some of us even buy Switch at all. If it’s got a universal/unified account system, I’ll definitely get the Switch as soon as I’m able to afford it. If it doesn’t, only time will tell if I ever bother to buy one at all.
a simple game like that could make wiiU owners a little bit happier but they decided to cancel it instead…can’t understand…
Good. If you can’t earn the money back you’ve invested in a game, it would be foolish to continue and finish it.
Because developing for Wii U has an still is a bit annoying and difficult for developers.. that is PARTLY why the Wii U lacked support, it has some very odd architecture.. where as i’m hearing that the switch is not even a chore to port games to.
Smart choice
}{ Heh… just buy a PC… we’ve had this for months… }{
Nah, we’re good. Thanks though.~
}{ We shall see sir… we shall see… }{
Nope, already got a laptop. I rarely use it for gaming though, other than Brutal Doom. I prefer GAME consoles for playing GAMES. Plus, I’d rather not be associated with people like you.~
Hey!
I’m a PC Gamer too you know :(
He’s just part of that group of individuals who just want to overcompensate for something but then cry when RDR2 doesn’t come to the platform.
Though, I do play on Consoles as well like Wii U, PS4 Pro and Xbox One S but I mostly play on PC, but I do see the fun and simplicity of Console Gaming.
So take this from a REAL PC Gamer, we’re not all like that and some of us even own consoles (like myself) :)
Never said anything bad about PC gamers. Just said we wouldn’t like to be associated with people like him.~
Computers are for work not games
So you develop games on a rock?
glad you understand that rocks are made for games and computers are made for work
I hope Bloodstained will “switch” their production over to the NS. I’m really excited about that project and the Wii U will be long dead when it launches in 2017.
But of course.
Good game though.
