The BBC Played Pokémon GO In Virtual Reality

In a piece on augmented reality by BBC Click, the presenter got a chance to play a special version of Pokémon GO. Modded to run on a pair of industrial augmented reality glasses, the host is seen walking around the streets of San Francisco playing this more immersive version of Niantic’s game.  Would you be interested in an official version of this mod? 1. With how stupid some people already are with Pokemon GO, I don’t think it will be long before we hear of idiots getting hurt or even killed because they are actually using the VR WHILE walking around. :/

    1. Except that it has nothing to do with VR. The glasses are AR glasses, meaning you’d still see the world in front of you. If you watched the video you’d see that the entire screen is transparent enough that you can still see the world around you. This would prevent death or injury, not cause it.

  2. Article title is a bit misleading. Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality are two different pieces of technology. These AR glasses would work GREAT if the game were optimized to work with it. It’d be a hell of a lot more fun and you’d be looking in front of you all the time.
