Gamers in Australia and the UK have been having a hard time with the pricing for the Nintendo Switch, which releases in both regions on March 3rd. However, we do have a general price for both regions to share with you, thanks to clarification from Nintendo. The Nintendo Switch will cost $469.95 AUD in Australia. In the UK, it is more complicated than that. However, Nintendo UK confirmed on Twitter that you can buy the console for £279.99 on the Nintendo Official UK Store.
#NintendoSwitch arrives on March 3rd 2017 and will be £279.99 on the Nintendo Official UK Store.

I lived in Australia, they get absolutely bent over the costs of consoles and games. I really feel for those guys.
Secondly, Nintendo has absolutely no presence in that territory. It will not sell
Are you fucked in the head I live in Australia and yes it does have a presence? You may have lived here for X years but try being born and raised here?
Haha yep if he was here for the latest pokemon release he would know that nintendo massive here.
Luckily the thing is not region locked, so importing might be cheaper then?
I’m not sure if I trust the lack of region-lock enough to buy a Switch from another country. The way they worded it by saying it “generally” won’t feature region-lock bothers me. I don’t want to end up getting screwed with something substantial down the line because I decided to buy a cheaper console from America.
Heh, good thing I don’t live there anymore.
Hello cheaper video game costs.
Australia’s prices are high-ish but don’t they earn more?
For example if i had enough USD to buy a Switch in America and i transferred it to Australian dosh wouldn’t it be the same amount?
…nope…
…300 USD is 400 AUD…
…cost is 470 AUD…
£279.99,Ok.it’s in pair with the PS4 and Xbox 1s. If they got the games as those 2 and get Nintendo exclusive It might work. Personally they should have put it @ £249.99, but I think that will be the price in 6 months time anyway. The problem is that if Nintendo did put it @ a lower price (I.e.£198) people would think it a shitty console.
German Amazon lists the switch at 329,99€ https://www.amazon.de/Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01EX3JIY8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484302515&sr=8-1&keywords=Nintendo+Switch
$470+ $100 or the pro controller= $570. Then add paid online.
Go fuck yourself nintendo.
for*
It’s up on Amazon Germany for 329.99€.

I don’t see why it’s more expensive than in the US.
Converted from $ to € it would be around 280€.
I sure hope it’s a placeholder price, as it actually should be 299.99€ too.
Forget Tax $300 + 19% Tax = $357. $357 = 335€. Das die Preise in den USA ohne Steuern sind hat wohl noch immer nicht jeder kapiert.
Yeah I forgot it.
Converted from $ to € it’s around 280€+19% tax it will be around 330€.
If it’s worth for now is another question.
I’m honestly terrified of seeing Brazil’s price! @.@ Do we have word on that country’s price yet?
I don’t live there personally but we have a regular here that DOES live there. @.@
I was excited when Kimishima said the ‘North American price’ would be $299, but then as soon as preorders opened on Canadian sites it was all $399.
like fucking
$470 is still a luxury price compared to what us people in the Caribbean have to pay.
470 for the console, 90 for a pro controller, maybe 100 for a decent sd card, 90 for Zelda and paid OK one sub…..
So that is roughly $750 upfront for most.
Ridiculous…..Just so stupid.
I’m as big a Nintendo fan as anyone, which is why I’m quite sad that I’m sure this will flip harder than the Wii U. And I will probably never get to play Odyssey as I can’t justify that price for a Switch. Regardless if I can afford it.
