It turns out that Super Bomberman R for the Nintendo Switch was created using the third-party development engine, Unity. The news was uncovered on the official GDC 2017 website. The first Bomberman game for quite some time will be launching alongside the Nintendo Switch on March 3rd.
Super Bomberman R For Nintendo Switch Was Created Using Unity

Unity is actually a pretty good engine when used right so I don’t know why you would think that would be the source of its problems.
Yeah, I didn’t phrase that properly. The engine is good. Hopefully it runs well on the Nintendo Switch :)
Yeah hopefully. I don’t get why people are saying the game is ugly, or disgusting, i think it looks pretty cool. The textures are clean, the lighting looks nice, the special effects are decent, and 30fps isn’t anything bad. It doesn’t look amazing, but its definitely not disgusting. Tho I haven’t played the game, so maybe its worse in person?
Mr. Writer, Do not think so poorly of the Unity engine.
Uhm… Who makes the Unity engine again?
Cool *-*y husband and I are also planning to make a game in unity ,^^
Hopefully that means good things for the game- t’would not do for Bomberman’s comeback game to be mediocre or worse.
Why would the fact it’s using unity cap its performance..?
That’s what I am wondering. Personally, I am very new to actual game development. (Only about 4 semesters into it) We use Unity for the purposes of our class and it seems to handle lots of polygons and textures very well. But of course I only know the basics of this stuff.
