Analyst Group Predicts A Switch Redesign By 2019

Despite the Switch’s recent release, an analyst group is already predicting Nintendo’s next iteration of the console. Citigroup has predicted that Nintendo will release a smaller, lighter version of the system in 2019. Dubbing their idea the Switch Mini, Citigroup believes a dedicated handheld version of the console would be a great idea for the company. While only a prediction, Nintendo has released many iterations of their consoles before.

“Although the Nintendo Switch can be used as a handheld device, we think smaller children could struggle to use it comfortably in that format due to its size and weight. Accordingly, we think Nintendo will launch a lighter, dedicated handheld version of the Switch, possibly to be called the Switch Mini.”

  1. switch mini and switch plus will happen (maybe not those names ) x2 is 16nm and a 16nm super tegra chip is being designed…

a switch type handheld only is a simple inclusion and a NEW or plus switch will also be doable to,its bound to happen

in 2020 the next tegra chip will be 2x x2 nevermind 2x x1 and will be a powerhouse nintendos future would easy be a continued use of tegra and new switch and mini versions

    1. It’s unfortunate that Nintendo seems unable or unwilling to develop a machine that will go toe to toe with Sony and Microsoft. A machine that allows the smaller, interesting games we’re seeing for the Switch right now, but also something that truly offers the graphics horsepower and features to entice the top tier developers. If they release a follow up in 2020, it will still be a few steps behind XB Scorpio and PS PRO/5.

  2. Not sure if any one said this.. but i think the redesign should be based around the dock similar to thr microsoft surface where the dock increases the graphics power with a second more powerful graphics card..then they can have the portable and a power house dock which would make it on par…

720 on device and up to 4k when docked..
