According to German Nintendo website ntower, players who have over 100 friends on their Switch and try to host a private multiplayer lobby in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are greeted with a message that stops you from successfully hosting a race. The game requests that you add more friends by going back to the main Switch menu which ultimately stops you from hosting the private race with your friends.
This could be something to do with how it was ported, perhaps. On the Wii U you weren’t given the option to have over 100 contacts but with the Switch you can. Hopefully a patch will soon be on its way to remedy this glitch.
remove some of these “Friends”.
Dam 100 friends ? Tht person must be famous can I be like him ?? Lol
Lol, the Switch is trying to say ,”you thing you got enough friends there buddy? Why don’t you go add more friends….sheesh”

Stack overflow bois….
A different error happens to me with the same result bu I don’t have over 100 friends.
Please fix this Nintendo.
Got 150 friends on my list and had no issues in playing online or creating rooms for friends.
Who’s gonna have over 100 friends? I don’t even like that many people!
When will a network come along that gives us a non-friends list.
……That was a joke.
Lol I’m aware, but I still want one.
