Silicon Studio’s Enlighten Will be Compatible With The Nintendo Switch

Tokyo based company Silicon Studio has recently acquired the real-time global illumination tool Enlighten from the original developer Geomerics, and have announced that this will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch.

For context, Enlighten portrays the way that light is bounced from, or absorbed by, materials in a scene. Previous details of the product on Geomerics website explains that “artists are able to light any scene with just a small number of light sources, all while bringing unrivalled subtlety and harmony to the application’s graphic.”

“Silicon Studio Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kenji Terada; hereinafter referred to as “the Company”), which develops digital content related business for the entertainment industry, is the industry’s highest level of global illumination technology We are pleased to announce that “Enlighten” is compatible with Nintendo’s new game console “Nintendo Switch ™”.

As announced on May 10, 2017, according to the Company’s news release, “Enlighten”, the industry’s highest level of global illumination technology, will be sold, developed and supported by the Company in the future. In addition to “Enlighten”, we will build synergies between this product and our own products and build pioneering solutions in 3D visualization.”
