Japan’s Switch stock has been troublesome for a while, but it looks like some help is coming. My Nintendo Store, Nintendo’s online store in Japan, will soon be taking pre-orders for “customizable Switch sets”. Starting August 22nd, you will be able to pre-order a Switch console anytime you want, without any concerns about the console going out of stock. The first-come-first-served selling of Switch consoles, which only lasted a couple of minutes following a Switch restock, is no longer a thing. However, you will have to wait a month before the Switch arrives and once you make the pre-order, you will not be able to cancel it. Those who pre-order on August 22nd will see their shipments go out on October 1st. After the 22nd, shipments will be made from October onwards.

An Ethernet port is all it needs, it’s so basic.
Customizable how exactly? Like someone can order it designed according to their own preferences?
Good thing the Switch isn’t console locked, so if this doesn’t come to America, just have to import one from Japan but that probably means a longer wait than just a month, though.
it’s like a bundle, you get to choose the joy con color, the strap’s color, and you can choose a game, a pro controller, a carrying case, 2nd pair of joy-cons, either a joy con charging grip or the extended battery, and a splatoon 2 sticker kit
That explains the month’s wait as they have to make the things you ordered as part of the bundle.
