Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has told the Financial Times that consumers shouldn’t worry about being able to get hold of a SNES Mini. Reggie says that supply won’t be an issue when the lucrative retro system launches later this month. He said Nintendo has “dramatically increased” production for SNES Classic stock.
“I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on an SNES Classic on any of the auction sites . . . You shouldn’t [have to] pay more than $79.99,
do the same for the metroid legacy edition.

I already see Metroid: Samus Returns Legacy Edition going for $149.99 to $199.99 on eBay, a markup from £59.99.
Pre-orders are already sold out on Nintendo UK’s official online store, Game/GameStop, Amazon, etc.

I’m going to probably hate myself for saying this but, hope Reggie stays true to his words and Nintendo provides more stock of the lucrative console without having to wait hours in the cold. If they do release more stock, I’ll gladly buy one in October along with three other games; Super Mario Odyssey, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions, and Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon in November. Seems like my wallet will be crying by the beginning of the holiday season.
If there’s enough stock, you don’t need to tell people not to buy from scalpers. The presence of scalpers is exclusively dependent on the pricing and available offered at retail. If Nintendo doesn’t both under produce AND undercharge for the rarity involved in underproduction, scalpers won’t exist anyway.

I’m counting on that stock, Mr. Fils-Aime. My body is FAR too ready. I’ll be leaving the house that day before the sun rises. My first destination………Target. Since they open the earliest. Or Walmart.
It’s a shame they couldn’t release the NES mini again. At least for a while longer. There were SO many people who missed out on that.
