This year has been an incredibly important one for Nintendo. March saw the release of the Nintendo Switch and although proven massively popular, some consumers have had a hard time finding one to buy. This certainly has not gone unnoticed by Nintendo. Ahead of Nintendo’s quarterly financial results (we should hear more about the results next week), Reggie Fils-Aime has once again expressed his concerns with regards to the availability of stock for Nintendo Switch with The Verge.
“Whenever we launch a system, we place very high expectations on ourselves,” he explains. “I wish we would have more hardware. Our inability to meet demand is not something that is satisfying in any way, shape, or form. And we’re working hard to satisfy as much demand as possible.”
According to Fils-Aime, we shouldn’t be surprised to hear the subject of Switch stock shortages from Mr Kimishima.
“I expect that our chief executive Mr. Kimishima will comment on this,” he says.

we need more Kimishima
You’d never see him in a Luigi suit on Nintendo Direct.
Even if he wanted to, he wouldn’t do it out if respect for Iwata San (RIP)
I work at best buy and we have over 150 consoles in preparation for mario odyssey. There was around 80 pre orders as well. The location isnt a super busy place either.
150!? Jesus, so many
Everywhere I go I see Switch in stock. What’s wrong everyone?
Supply is largely evenly distributed, while demand is condensed into large population centers.
I have yet to see it in stock in stores I visit. Target and Walmart around me never have it not sure about GameStop and bestbuy but yea it must not be as popular in your area or not as busy.
I live in Austin, Tx, so I’m definitely not somewhere that doesn’t get a lot of traffic
I live near DFW, in a town of 250,000. My walmart has at least 10 on the shelf right now, and target had 7 a few days ago. No trouble finding one here.
Apple still kicking that ass of Nintendo’s for parts.
